There is no ” I” in Team……..

To be a Champion in any team sport, comes down to the fact that, it’s not about one or two guys, it is totally a team effort and the Boston Bruins have proved that with the great season they are having. On the verge of yet another Stanley cup victory and the way they as a team rebounded from a lack luster performance in game two, they go two games to one in game three, in the best of a seven game series. Game three wasn’t just a win for the Bruins, they did so in the house of the St. Louis blues and in a dominating way, final score was seven to two, while going four for four on the power play also. This team has a good mix of veteran players, as well as great young talent, with a coach that has his finger on the pulse of each game. Chemistry is another part of being a true champion, it is how you are respected by your teammates, knowing your teammates so you can move as one on the ice with pin point passing, as you gain control of the puck away from the other team. The team whether on the ice or off the ice, has to bond together and be ready to battle for each other, like being a family, with the coaches being the parents of the family. These Boston Bruins are a special group, that have come together in harmony, as they put aside the ego’s to work hard at achieving the most prestigious trophy in all of sports…………….. Lord’s Stanley cup.

The Bruins might of dominated in last nights game three match up, but let’s not forget the St. Louis Blues, this team is built very similar to the Bruins, I am sure game four these Blues will be ready to battle once again, the Bruins will have to be ready for the fight and respond as they did in game three. To get this far and be the last two teams standing within the league, with a chance of being the champions of the hockey world, says a lot of both these teams, now with these Bruins being two wins away from the coveted prize, is no time to become comfortable, as the last two wins are just as hard as the last fourteen. For those true fans of the game of hockey, you have basically two seasons in one and we the fans are blessed with such a great game, now through the years the game has had some changes to it, like being a much faster game then years before, but the basics of the game stay in tact, like the first season being the regular season and the second season being the playoffs. With the playoffs there is a slogan we call ” Mission sixteen”, basically we call it that because it takes sixteen wins to win the playoffs and become the keeper of Lord’s Stanley’s cup.

My earliest memory of these Bruins was also against the St. Louis Blues, with the now famous greatest player to ever lace up the skates………… He is Bobby Orr and with an assist from Derek Sanderson, the rest is history with Bobby flying through the air in front of the goalie, for the goal and the winner of Lord’s Stanley’s cup. The Boston Bruins have a rich history and being one of the six original teams within the National Hockey League, not too mention some of the great hockey talent to wear the spoke “B” on their chest, is the reason why I myself Bleed black and gold. With two more wins this special team of the Boston Bruins can cement their names within the rich history of the organization.

Like Tom Brady has become the G. O. A. T. of the football world, we here in the city of Boston has witnessed two G. O. A. T’s of their sports, with Tom Brady and Bobby Orr. There is a lot of sports history here in the city of Boston and with the Bruins on the brink of winning a championship, along with the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots all in the same season, which hasn’t been done since the season of 1935/1936, truly gives this city of Boston the title of ” Titletown U. S. A.”.

I love the game of hockey, played the game when I was younger and with my favorite team so deep in the playoffs, like two wins away from winning Lord’s Stanley’s cup deep, it is very exciting right now, with all eyes on this special team. A team that has battled adversity all season, a team that has bonded together more than a team, they have bonded like a family on and off the ice and has been fun too watch this bonding all season. This team has been resilient all season and watching them in game two and game three, proves just how resilient they are, with an ugly performance in two, and a great performance in three. Would love to see this team finish mission sixteen, as not just for the reward for the players on a great season, but for the third time in the same season, the city of Boston can cue the Duck boats once again, for this type of celebration will never get old, especially with my favorite team.

” In team sports there is never an I, as it takes the whole team to work as one and become a true champion”

” The Stanley cup is the most prestigious and hardest trophy to win of all the sports, which makes hockey the coolest game on ice”

” To be a G. O. A. T. of your sport means that you are the Greatest Of All Time”

” Mission 16 in the game of hockey starts with the playoffs as you are on a mission to win 16 more games to be a true champion of the sport you play and love”

The 2015 Boston Bruins

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA          The Boston Bruins are a hockey team within the National Hockey League (NHL), they are also my favorite sports team and always have been throughout my life. Win, lose or draw, I will always bleed the black and gold, the greatest hockey talent ever to lace up the skates played for these Bruins and brought two Stanley cups to the city of Boston, his name is Bobby Orr and I idolized him as I played the game growing up. I have been fortunate enough to witness these Bruins going to five Stanley cup final, winning three and losing two. This team has always been competitive each season, with only a few seasons falling short of expectations, the thing most about this team is, throughout the years they have made the playoffs with lesser named players than other teams, could the Ownership maybe change their philosophy of this team a bit and actually spend for the bigger named talent of the league, possibly? But throughout my time as a true Boston Bruins fan, it surely looks like they are more about putting the profits in their pockets, instead of rewarding the true fans with some great talent, for more chances of bringing Lord Stanley back to Boston, where it belongs.

With that said……. My thoughts of Claude Julien is, he is a great coach with a great system of play, with his system he needs all the players on the roster to buy into the the system and execute the system perfectly and in 2011 they all bought in with the result being, they brought Lord Stanley back to the city of Boston where it truly belongs. After winning the Stanley cup (which is hardest trophy to win in all sports), the team got into salary cap issues and had to let go some of the key players that brought the identity to the team, with the result since has been a team in need of an identity. Identity in hockey goes way beyond the talent of the players and has everything to do with, group of players bonding together as one, taking their Individual talents, putting them together and making the entire team stronger, which makes them a difficult team to play against, for any team that they may face. When the entire roster of players bond together and play for each other, the result then becomes they win more than they lose, in 1970, 1972 and 2011 these Bruins showed just what bonding together means and what being a team family really means, these players from these Championship teams were a family on and off the ice, which they had each others backs and played hard for each other each and every game. In 2011 and with the system of Claude in place, then with all the players bonding together as a family and buying into the system, is the biggest reason why they brought Lord Stanley back to the city of Boston and why each and every game of that season they where a hard win for any team that they had faced. The Identity of the team in 2011 was that of, making the other team work that much harder to beat you, while the team/family of the Boston Bruins executed the system of Claude perfectly and piling up win after win. This team of 2015 definitely needs all these young players to buy into the system of Claude and bond together as one, so they to can create this Identity that the past teams of the Bruins have had, as well as the success they have had also, I will always bleed the black and gold of the Boston Bruins and do hope these Bruins can bond together as one, bringing Lord Stanley back to the city of Boston, where the true home of this most prestigious trophy truly is.

” The Identity of any team, starts with all the players of that team bonding together and bringing all their Individual talents together, making them a hard team for any other team to play against”

” when a sports team bonds together they become a family on and off the field/ice”

” Championships don’t always have to be won with the best of talent, they can also be won with a team who has the strongest Identity and who bonds together stronger than the opponent”

The Spoked B is worn with pride throughout the team.

https://bay176.mail.live.com/att/GetAttachment.aspx?tnail=0&messageId=9d5e8bcb-f333-11e4-94a4-b4b52f56f77a&Aux=114%7c0%7c8D2555783AD9C50%7c%7c0%7c0%7c0%7c0%7c%7c%7c10%7cspcloutier11%40hotmail.com&cid=91929e92a85a46f3&maxwidth=220&maxheight=160&size=Att&blob=MHwyMDEyLTA0LTE2XzIzLTE2LTU2XzY0NC5qcGd8aW1hZ2UvanBlZw_3d_3d

The spoke “B” on the jersey of the Boston Bruins, is worn with not only having pride for the organization, but pride for the teammates you play the game of hockey with. Patrice Bergeron shows just what this pride is all about.

These Bruins of the 2014/15 season did not live up to the expectations that not only the Management had, but the fans of the spoke “B” had. The reason for this starts with the General Manager in Peter Chiarelli and the Bruins did the right thing in letting him go. Even before the season started, Peter let go a huge part of the Identity of this team in Jonny Boychuk, but it started even before this, when they let Andrew Ference go? These two guys were not the most talented, but what they brought to the team in an Identity, goes way beyond, any kind of talent, they made this team very tough to play against.

The loss of the Identity became worse when they let Shawn Thorton go? True Thorty was getting older, but his toughness and grit, is what this team missed most this year, Thorty knew when to throw down the gloves and when not to, he knew how to make the players of the other teams see a shadow and cough up the puck, which carried throughout the team and made these Boston Bruins a hard team to play against, from whom ever they played against. In 2011 when they won Lord’s Stanley cup, they had all these ingredients and used them to whip up a gourmet meal, each time they took to the ice that year.

When Peter took these guys away, without adding similar guys ( maybe younger),  now you have a team playing without an identity. I mean like simple addition and subtraction like you learn in school, when you keep subtracting numbers, without adding in any other numbers, eventually you end up with zero or a negative number.

I will always bleed the black and gold of the Boston Bruins and have been a true fan since the Bobby Orr days, yes I still bleed the black and gold and always will bleed these great colors, not too mention my passion for the game, as a former player of the game. Now with that said, I still believe in some of the core players of this team, as yet a few of the core need some tweaking or changing.

Coach Claude showed some versatility, when he put Pasternak, Spooner and Lootch together on a line and as this line showed great promise, it also brought to life the Bear in Lootch, as he played well with the young and future of the Bruins. Bergy was just being Bergy, as his game of the best defensive forward in the game, stayed true to form, no matter who was on his line, Soderberg and Eriksson proved they have great chemistry with each other, while the Merlot line showed that it needs more grit, as well as speed on the ice.

The defense is where this team needs to get better in a hurry and I would build a strong defense around Dougie and Krug. Now if Miller comes back from his injury? He would be a great 4th line defense man,   Seidenberg and Mcquaid? now here is where you get something while you still can, Chara true he is getting old for this fast game, but I would reduce his time on ice, as his reach can still work in your favor and let him retire as a Bruin out of respect. Which means that Patrice Bergeron finally gets the “C” on his jersey, as he more than deserves this.

I think you noticed a few names I have not mentioned? number one on the list of trade guys is Brad Marchand, as his reputation has hurt the team more than it helped, plus his play is not as consistent as it should be. Smith, Paille, campbell also haven’t been consistent with their game also, so use them to trade and better the team moving forward. Kretchi if he is healthy from his injury, can still help this team so he stays, as well as Max Talbot cause both of these can play the two way game like Bergy.

The Goalie situation with Rask stays the same, but the back up position needs some attention, so Tuukka can have some days of rest. Claude Julien and his system can still be effective in this league, just maybe add some speed within it, Claude is a great coach, but when a GM like Peter, subtracts without adding, now you tie the Coaches hands at what he can do. The roster for next season should be with Rask, Dougie, Krug, Miller, Chara, Lootch, Kretchi, Pasternak, Bergeron, Spooner, Soderberg, Eriksson, Talbot, Ferlin, with the rest of the other guys gone for more speed and guys that fit the system in place by coach Claude. These guys will be the core of the team and between them and who you bring in, they can form an identity that can be like the 2011 team, of a team that is hard to play against for any opponent they may face.

I have much respect for Cam Neely and I have total faith in him and if they bring back Don Sweeney as the new GM, that this team will contend for yet another Stanley cup.

” Go Bruins!!! Make us proud, so we true fans can enjoy Bruin hockey once again”

” I bleed black and gold, only the true fans bleed this color, as an ordinary fan bleeds the ordinary red blood”

Ye of little faith Bruins fans………

These Boston Bruins this season of 2015, are a competitive group of guys and can compete with any team. The problem lies with injuries of key players at the wrong times and now that you are forced to bring guys up from the farm club to fill in, gets you away from believing in and trusting the system put in place by the coach. This system of the coach works and is proven, when they won Lord Stanley in 2011, the only way it works 100% is, the players have to bye in and execute, when you have multiple players coming up from the farm club, all they want to do is prove they are worthy of staying and do not bye in 100% to the system, this causes a bit of team doubt and chaos throughout the entire team.

Claude Julien is proven that he is a great coach and has become one of the Bruins best coaches of my lifetime. His system when the players bye in, is keep everything to the outside, let the Goalie see the shot and control the neutral zone. The hardest part of the system is, finding the right players to bye in, finding players who develop a bond and chemistry with each other, not players who only think of Individual stats. Players like Patrice Bergeron are perfect examples of a player that has bought in to the system and uses it to achieve greatness and respect throughout the league.

The system of Claude Julien is defense first, true it may be a boring system, with no big production on offensive, but when you believe and trust the system, play good solid defense, this is what creates the offense. Control the neutral zone and take advantage of your opportunities with good play making, this is what turns to goals and offense. Now true that there are some issues and things that need to change, in order to keep this team competitive moving forward, it all starts with the GM in Peter Chirelli. Peter has not done enough to give the coach enough to work with, in the type of player needed to make the system work.

The changes to this team have to be the type of players that not only bye into the system of the coach, but players that will bond with and develop a chemistry with each other, not a player who only plays for his own stats. The Bruins have a few good players within the  core of the team in which to rebuild, players like Rask, Bergeron, Lucic, Kretchi, Kelly, Soderberg, Paille and Talbot, with young talent in Pasternak, Spooner and Ferlin to start with and building a great team around them. You don’t always need the Worlds best goal scorer to solve your offensive whoa’s, the Capitals with Ovetchkin proves this theory, you need four solid lines that bye into the system, play at a high level, every second they are on the ice and for one another. In 2011 the Bruins had multiple players with 20+ goals, not one player with 50+, this is how you become competitive and hard for any team to compete against you.

The Stanley cup is the hardest to win and most prestigious trophy in all of sports. When you are able to lift the trophy as a champion, not only have you earned it, but you earned it with your “teammates” by your side. Hockey is not an Individual sport, it is all about team and players playing for each other. When you have a team with a good bond of each other and have a chemistry of each other, now you have a team of greatness, not too mention having bought into the system of the coach, when you play as a team, trust in your abilities and the system put forth in front of you, trust in your teammates with a chemistry of each other, now you have a true team, that can compete at a high level, to achieve the most prestigious trophy of all sports, the Stanley cup, not to mention being a true Champion of the sport you love and play.

” Hockey is a sport where all involved have to be on the same page with, a bond and chemistry for each other”

” Hockey is a sport where an Individual might win you a game, but never a championship”

” Trust, chemistry and a team bond is a huge part of any championship hockey team, to be able to hoist Lords Stanley cup”

Whats up with the Boston Bruins?

The Boston Bruins, a hockey team I grew up watching, a player named Bobby Orr who I idolized, with another handful of players I enjoyed very much to watch, like Ray Bourque, Cam Neely, Gilles Gilbert, Rick Middleton to name a few, these Boston Bruins have had it’s share of great player’s and to witness three Stanley cup championships in my lifetime is a great honor, from my favorite team.

I would be lying if I said that I wouldn’t want them to win another one, we all want to win and see our favorite players bask in the joy of victory, we the true Bruins fan have seen our share of losing years, like 39 years til they won again in 2011, which is what makes it sweet when they actually do win it all. What the Bruins do have is a competitive Management team in place and it all starts with Cam Neely, Cam was a player that the Bruins traded Barry Peterson for, sent Barry to Vancouver and Cam here to Boston, the rest is history. Cam with his toughness and good puck sense, had changed what the term power forward was and is looked at today. Cam since retiring and becoming the Bruins President, has taken this competitiveness and toughness from the ice, into his office in the way he leads this organization, the year they won the cup in 2011, had Cam’s finger prints all over this team and to this day in a few of the Bruin players today.

In 2011 when the Bruins hoisted the Lord Stanley cup high throughout the city of Boston and shared it proudly with all the fans, they were a very difficult team to play against, they didn’t have that big name goal scorer, what they did have was a whole team that could score, all four lines producing at a high level each and every game. The one thing that breeds this is Team chemistry. Even though there are still some core players left from the championship team, there are a few players missing that brought this chemistry, chemistry never shows up on the nightly game stats, it only shows up within all the players of the team and is what makes them very difficult to play against, team chemistry is a bond between the players, that makes them a family on and off the ice and having each others backs, no matter what situation that may cross their paths.

These Boston Bruins of today and with the core of players they still have since 2011, can they get back that “team chemistry”? You bet they can, but it also takes a big commitment from the Management and the coaching staff, so they can bring in the right players, who will form this bond that will ultimately give them the chemistry, to be once again a very tough team to play against from any team in which they face. You don’t necessarily need the best goal scorers, just a few that bond together and with each of their strengths, plus the strengths of the team, become a great hockey team once again. The Boston Bruins are just a few chess pieces away from regaining their championship team, forget about the drama from the Boston sports Media, as these guys really no nothing of any sport and if they don’t create the drama, then they would be out of a job. Just simply trust in Cam Neely and his team, to once again build a championship Boston Bruins hockey team, for us true Bruins fan to enjoy once again.

” Boston Bruins hockey is about being tough and competitive to play against, not the flashy give me the puck for “my” goal”

” Team chemistry comes from a bunch of players coming together and forming a bond, to play for each other and have each others backs, no matter what that may come before you”

The New England Patriots are the team to beat

The way the Patriots started the season and getting lit up at home to the Kansas City Chiefs, then all the so called Patriot fans coming out and calling for Brady and Belicheks’s jobs? Well where are these negative people now with the Patriots going to another Superbowl?

Tom Brady is one of these type of Quarterbacks that don’t come around that often and we need to just sit back and enjoy the ride, these Individuals that spoke of his decline…… well I think Brady has shut them up with his play on the field this season, Brady is also the type of Quarterback that can turn a nobody receiver, into a star in the league and if you look back at Dieon Branch, what he did here with Tom, then going to Seattle and doing nothing, speaks loudly of the type of Quarterback Brady is, he is also a true humble person and always puts his team before himself, he works the hardest in practices and studies more film on other teams defenses than any other Quarterback in the league, Tom when he entered the NFL with the Patriots, was so far off the radar no team even looked his way, but The hard work by Tom gave him his chance when Drew Bledsoe went down, then Tom never looked back and worked even harder to keep this job pretty much for his entire career, Tom’s competitive juices are second to none throughout the league and I will say he is the most competitive Quarterback in the game today.

What can you say about Bill Belichek? the only word that comes to my mind is “GENIUS”. Bill knows the game inside the game, he knows when to get players and when to release them, Bill is a very demanding coach of his players, but he only demands cause he knows how to get the very best from the players, the Patriots under Bill are the ones that came out with the no huddle quick offense with Brady working it to perfection, now with the last two games this season in the these playoffs you see a lot of different formations and plays from these formations, which throws off the defense and makes them confused on what is going to be played, goes to show what the Legacy of Bill Belichek and Tom Brady are all about, plus now you may see more teams picking up on this, so they can try to be like the Patriots? The only issue I have with other teams doing what the Patriots have success with is, there is only one Tom Brady and one Bill Belichek.

We can not mention the Patriots without mentioning Bob Kraft, since he bought this team he has become the best Owner in all professional sports. Not just being an Owner of the team, but what he does away from the game, with his open wallet when it comes to charities, Bob Kraft is more than a Businessman and more than an Owner of a football team, he is a great Humanitarian within our Society and his humbleness has affected each member of the New England Patriots Team. This alone is why this team is so good, for so long.

You are going to have a lot of so called fans and so called sports media members, who have become to hate on this Patriot Organization, let’s put it this way, the Patriots have become to football, like the Yankees have become to baseball, just simply because they win more than they lose, what I challenge to these haters is, if you want to win and be a winner, then step up and beat a winner. It’s not about the Patriots marching down the field and scoring, it’s even more about the other team to try to stop them from scoring, those that hate on a team cause they win too much, don’t really know the game, or even better they don’t really know how sports in general are played. You play the game to win, in football you play for a chance at the Lombardi trophy, this Patriot team worked hard all season for this chance at one more game for the Lombardi, they overcame a lot of adversity throughout the season and had a difficult schedule to get to this point, they earned this chance at yet another Lombardi, we as true fans need to just sit back and enjoy the ride, so this team of the Patriots can finish the journey they set out to do at the beginning of the season.

” Good luck to the New England Patriots and may you finish your journey you set out to do”

” You play the game to win, you play the game to be a Champion”

” sports is about winning and stopping another team from the goal of winning”

” You can’t learn to win gracefully, without first losing gracefully”

The Chess match which Football truly is…….

The game of football here in America, isn’t just about big guys putting a hurt on each other, it’s not even about one or two guys for each team carrying the whole team, it’s about a whole team including the coaching staff, putting together a winning strategy from week to week for each team they face, with the players executing that strategy for the team to win each week.

Each team enter each week against a different opponent weekly, they spend the week prior to game day to practice, look at film and execute the game plan to a “T”, now granted practice is a bit different than the real game, as there are a lot of variables you just can’t practice for, like a player on the other team having a career day, which does happen from time to time, but in practice you can kind of get ready for it? Just that sometimes everything you do, just isn’t enough to stop that player, the game of football is like the game of chess, with the coaching staff calling which play to run for whatever situation and the players being the chess pieces that execute the game plan into a winning strategy.

The beauty of football is, no matter where you are in the standings, you can show up on game day, have a great attitude, execute the game plan to a “T” and win that game for that week, because you just executed one or two more plays than the other team, football is all about execution and strategy, with the team that does both of these the best will win the game, don’t get me wrong you still need talented players at each position, that do their jobs well and help contribute like the other players on the team, as each player does their job 100%, that gives the team a better chance to win the game.

When you compare football to real life, you see a lot of similarities, these similarities are the key ingredients to walking your path along your journey of life, with confidence to be better and stronger with every step, the only difference between life and football is, football is a game played one day a week and we live our lives every day of our journey.

Just like in football, when we live our lives the right way, execute our strategies to a “T”, we can make our lives seem easy, by being happy and having the confidence to be better and stronger on our paths of our journey of life, in football they look at films to fix their mistakes and be better next game, we in life sometimes have to look back in our lives, see where we went wrong, to fix ourselves to be better in the future, the more we practice this routine, the better we all will be on our paths of our journey of life.

” Football is like the game of chess, just that the pieces of the game are real live Individuals”

” The ingredients to a winning football team is execution and strategy, these same ingredients will help us all walk our paths along our journey of life with confidence to be better and stronger everyday”

” the quarterback is the king piece on the chess board, the other players protect that piece for a better chance to winning that game”

Coming together in Unity should happen everyday on our journey of life

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

Unity is one of those words we take for granted, in this ” all about me” Society for which we live, we may come to together and show unity for short times and at different times along our journey’s, but at the end of the day within an ” All about me” Society, it is about me and for me always within our journey, when you put together a society of “all about me”  and combine it with a service oriented society, that is dependent on customer service, now you are stirring the pot with ingredients that do nothing but make the dish very sour.

To look deep within the word ” Unity”, you will see a bigger word of ” Unified” and you will also see that it has nothing to do with ” all about me”, when we are unified there is nothing that will stand in our way, as it is true there is power in numbers, when we become ” all about me” we become very lonely deep within ourselves.

As we walk our paths along our journey of life, there will be many changes that will come to us on our paths we chose, as these changes happen we then reject them cause they don’t revolve around us? Which then furthers our loneliness as we move further on our paths, when we unify with each other is when we accept these changes, so we all can move forward stronger and better along our journey’s of life.

To be Unified with each other in a Society, means we become stronger and better in everything we do, cause now we have many that help each other, instead of each of one of us butting heads in order to get ahead of one another, there are certain sports teams that have showed us this throughout all our journey’s, but three teams in my lifetime come to mind, these three teams also showed us that sports can be a great influence in all our lives, both these teams were not the best talented teams in their leagues, but they played with a strong heart, a will to win and for each one of their fellow teammates, the first team which holds a special place in my heart is the 2011 Boston Bruins, when you say “team”, this was a team that did everything on and off the ice for each other, they unified as one and won Lord Stanley s cup for all their hard work they did for one another, the other team that holds a special place in my heart, are the 2004 Boston Red Sox, forget about the not winning for 86 years, this was a team that unified as one to win the championship that year, they were not the most talented team or the most favorite to win, but they unified as one, brought the strength of each other together, for one common goal and that goal was to win it all, another team that has a special place in my heart, were the 2013 Boston Red Sox, this team not only won the championship for each other, they did it for an entire City, that was hurting from the Boston Marathon bombing, this team unified as one, with the goal of unifying an entire city and making it strong once again (#bostonstrong), these three teams showed us that, when we unify together, instead of being all about me, no matter what kind of change comes to us on or path of our journey of life, we will all be successful at everything we do, being unified shows strength, being all about me shows weakness, so coming together in unity will always be the strongest and best way, to walk our paths along our journey of life.

” to show unity is to bring many together, as all about me only shows we are weak and think we are stronger than everybody else”

” when change happens it is better to unify, than being all about me, as being unified makes us stronger and better, which will help us accept the change to be better”

The 2014 Boston Bruins

I would like to start out by saying, thank you to the Bruins players, coaches, the front office staff and the management, for a great and exciting season, with a few player’s up for an award, as well as the organization for winning the President’s trophy.
This season like all others had it’s ups and downs, but when push came to shove the team achieved high honors, I have been a Bruins fan for my lifetime, I have also played the game and understand the ins and outs of the game, as well as the other side of the game, being the business side, to be able to compete in this NHL of today, you must evolve and by evolve I mean change as well as adapt like all the other teams.
My earliest memory of the Bruins, was Bobby Orr flying through the air, on a pass from Derek “Turk” Sanderson, for the winning goal in the 1970 Stanley Cup finals, I have been a true fan since and have seen many stars wear the spoked “B”, the Bruins have seen it’s share of NHL stars to wear the B and I am sure they will see many more in the future.
Now as these 2014 playoffs come to a close for the organization, of which I was very excited to see another Stanley cup come to Boston, as this team was good enough to do this, I am also disapointed on how they came to a close, in my opinion this team just simply imploded at the wrong time, letting the other team get in their heads and taking bad penelties, even though the officiating was fair at best, I do feel very bad for Iggy as this was his best shot at a Championship and do hope he comes back for another run with the Bruins, this team is well coached has it’s good core group of player’s starting with Patrice Bergeron, but does need to change some ingrediants, in order to make the product a gourmet delight once again.
With change comes some resistence, but it is change well worth making to be better and stronger moving forward, first I would start with Brad Marchand as his reputation has gone sour and hurts his team with bad penelties, on defense with a healthy Seidenberg, I would take Mcquaid, Bartkowski and Mezarros, trade them for stronger and better “D” men, that can handle the puck and quarterback the powerplay very much like a Ray Bourque, with Chara getting older, start thinking about making Patrice the captain and using Chara in key situations, which will bring down his minuates on the ice, Chara still has some to give, just not what a younger Chara would give, build the “D” around Boychuk, Hamilton Krug and Seidenberg.
For Marchand, I would add Caron to the mix and go after younger seasoned veterns, that would fit the system and the team mentality attitude and know how to find the back of the net, Lootch is a great power forward that plays with an edge, I just think that he went over that edge and wasn’t effective like he usally is, can he still be that guy? Yes he can play with that edge without going over the edge and Lootch will once again be a true power forward, 3rd line was awesome to watch and with Kelly back will make them better, just have Fraser waiting in Providence and let Caron go with Marchand trade, these ideas of mine sound good and will make the team better moving forward, change sometimes is difficult, but when done correctly, is the best for everybody moving forward,

Sports brings good to our Society, when done the right way

I am a huge Boston Bruins fan, been a fan all my life and I am a true die hard fan, yes I was disappointed at their game 1 loss to the Montreal Canadians last night, but instead of showing my stupidity on social media, I was more of a good sportsman and refused to comment on any of those ridicoulous posts.
Now if you do not know what I am saying, twitter blew up last night, with stupidity and racist remarks, people calling out a certain Canadian player and using a certain word, this is uncalled for and only shows not just stupidity, but the fact that we in this Society are arrogant and all about me, maybe not all of us, but enough that it makes all of us look bad.
When sports is done the right way, just look no further then the 2013 Boston Bruins and the Boston Red Sox, both these teams played last year the right way, went deep in the playoffs, the Red Sox finished it off with a championship and the Bruins fell 17 seconds short, but what was more important is, both these teams played not just for themselves and their organization, but for an entire City, showing unity and a never quit attitude, after a time when the City was devastated after the Marathon bombings, showing us all what #bostonstrong really stands for.
When sports are played the right way and we as fans follow our teams the right way, it is the most beautiful thing, as it not only unifies, but gives us a feeling of pride, not just of our team but more importantly, for ourselves, so we can walk our Journey of life, with the confidence and strength, to be happy and show love of one another, instead of the hate and sadness that we see today.
Sports is a powerful tool when played the right way, to be a winning “team” you not only play for yourself, you play for your teammates, which brings that unity of a group together, that same unity then consumes all the fans and when done in the right way, is the most beautiful thing to watch. Unity and sports are there to be played correctly, so we all can prosper as a Society, when we prosper the good for all of us will follow, it’s when we don’t prosper that the bad then consumes us, so as a Bruins fan, Let’s go Bruins!!!! As a fan and a member of Society, let the “good” times roll!!!

“Sports is one tool to use, let’s do it right so we all can prosper in our Society”

“When there is hate, just simply ignore and don’t respond, as this hate will then just die away”
