The sun shines over the City of Chicago

With the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series last night and being seventy one years since they have even been on the big stage, plus not winning it for one hundred and eight years, this win is bigger than even the sport of baseball itself.

They say it was the curse of the Goat? I understand the whole story of a person bringing their pet Goat to the games, then being told not to bring the Goat anymore, but seriously, you think a Goat had to do with a team not winning a Championship in over a century? Same thing with the Great Babe Ruth and the trade that had him leaving the Boston Red Sox, to the New York Yankees, then the Red Sox not winning a World Series in Eighty six years? We all can believe what we want to, as we are all unique to each other with our own minds, but to make an excuse over a curse for not winning a Championship, I think we need look deeply into what we see, instead of making an excuse for everything around us.

The Fans of the Chicago Cubs is what this win is all about, as it was the Fans that were caught between the team and the Ownership of the team and being being deprived of what other teams and their Fans have accomplished. It is the Fan that shows up. pays a fee, so they can watch their team win, it is the Fan that roots very loudly for their favorite players of that team, but when the Owner’s don’t pay for the right players (for which the fan pays for), now the Fan has no one to root for. Yes your going to have those die hard Fans that no matter what, will still pay and root for a team, even if they don’t truly know of who they are rooting for. Instead you have the Owner’s becoming more greedy and taking advantage of the die hard Fan, just to line their pockets with more money, so they can live their plush exotic lifestyles.  When you don’t spend the money wisely and get the right player’s for the team and for the Fans who have been loyal to you, you will be the next Chicago Cubs or the Boston Red Sox.

When you want to model yourself after a good Owner, you need to look no further than Bob Kraft of the New England Patriots. He was a Fan of the team before he was an Owner and when he became Owner, he then put the best Management around him to build a great team. then through the Management they went out and got the right players that not only fit the Patriot way, but that would gel together and give the Fans what they have paid for, as they spend a lot of money to enjoy a game on any given Sunday. Now with the Patriots and the last fifteen years, you can clearly see what building a great team will do, as they win more than they lose and through winning, makes it fun to not only play the game, but makes it fun to pay and watch the game as well. Now with the winning part, you will also gain some Hater’s that will try to bring you down with words, this is just that words……..That show nothing but hatred of their own team, cause their Owner’s don’t step up to the plate and reward their Fans with a winning team.

Yes I do congratulate the Chicago Cubs and their player’s for winning the World series, but I congratulate their Fans even more, as now they can see what winning is all about and how winning and sports can affect a whole region for the better. Players like Jon Lester and David ross who are the older guys on the team and have won it all before, both came from the Red Sox, as did Theo Epstein the General Manager also, these are the guys that brought their experience and winning nature with them, as they infected the Fans around them throughout Chicago. Theo was the one that was brought in by the owner’s to give the Fans what they have needed for a long time and finally reward the Fans with this great victory and not just a victory, but a World Series Championship.

We all walk a path through this journey of life, some may get a chance to bask in the glory of this journey, while others simply just walk their path in the clouds of their judgments. Sports and our everyday lives when they come together in harmony, like last night in Chicago, helps us all have a look at the glory part of this journey and can help us all become better and stronger moving forward. True everything has to line up completely, but when they do it is the most beautiful part of this journey through life and is what makes us all walk with confidence, to be better and stronger along our paths throughout this journey.

” The Chicago Cubs have finally found success in the sport of baseball, as the Fans have finally been rewarded for their time and money spent”

” This team of the 2016 World series Champs the Cubs, will be forever enshrined in the history of the city of Chicago”

” They say winning cures all, but you can’t win without the right players around you”

” It takes a knack to get the right players for your team, as Theo Epstein and Bill Belichek have perfected that knack”

Big Vince and the New England Patriots

big vince             This is a letter I pulled off of Twitter that was retweeted by DJ Bean, who is within the Boston Sports Media. Looks like Big Vince is in the process of a big decision.

Vince Wilfork is one of those type of players in sports, that doesn’t come along very often, not only was he a great player and even a big time player, but more important was that he was a very special player throughout his years here in New England. You can put him in the same category as Teddy Brushci and Tom Brady, the three of them have multiple championships with the same team and all three are very good leaders who redefined what being a true leader is. Big Vince led by example and has never been any kind of trouble for his team.

Big Teddy bear, that is a nickname I gave this great player of Vince Wilfork, off the field and within the 5th quarter press conferences, this is how Big Vince came across, on the field how ever, there was no more a competitive player than Big Vince, even when the other team doubled team him, he still found a way to break up a play. When he tipped that ball in the air, then caught it and ran for the touchdown, I was overcome with tears of joy, only cause that was Vince being Vince and what made him a great player.

With this letter and seeing that Big Vince has a decision to make, I as a true Patriot fan will back him 100%, no matter what his decision whether retirement or playing for another team? I will always be a Big Vince fan and wish him the best of luck in what ever decision he makes. We as true New England Patriot fans owe him this, for all his hard work he has done for his team and teammates and especially for the way he came back from his injury, a torn Achilles would probably of side lined an ordinary player longer or end their career?   As Big Vince used it to motivate himself even more, for the benefit of his team.

Now the sports media may spin this hundreds of different ways, only cause that is their job and creating drama is what they do, without the drama they will have no job, hence then maybe we can all watch and enjoy our sports and favorite players even more. With that said, anybody that says anything bad about Big Vince, does not really know Big Vince. He is not only a great player on Game day, but what he brings to his team/teammates, is true leadership and trusting in his teammates as they should trust in him to do their jobs on the field and with their motto of “do your job” this season, then ending with another championship, speaks loudly of how Big Vince was throughout his career here with the New England Patriots.

” Big Vince was a great leader for his team and his attitude and actions proved just that”

“Good luck in all you do Big Vince, as this fan is a fan for life”

Inside the Boston Briuns, the true perspective…….

The problems of Boston Bruins this season of 2014/2015, simply go deeper than just trading a player for another player, just cause you think it may shake up the team?

What your average fan and most sports media so called know it all’s tend to forget is, there is a lot more to a hockey team than the production of a player. Team chemistry and that special bond between the players goes without saying, other than the Edmonton Oilers of the early 1980’s, which had a team of superstars and just pick a guy including number 99 Wayne Gretzky, you can make a case that this was the best team ever put together in the history of the NHL. Teams like that today will never exist again, reason being is free agency and the salary cap of each team, plus the fact that their team chemistry wasn’t needed as their talent outweighed it by a landslide.

Team chemistry was what the 2004 Red Sox was all about, they weren’t the most talented team but they played for each other and pulled together when they needed to the most, Guys like Kevin Millar (cowboy up), Jonny Damon to name a few and the nick name they gave each other (the idiots), goes to show the team chemistry this team had and what made them a special team, to end the Red Sox drought after 86 years and win the World Series.

This Boston Bruins team had this team chemistry in 2011 and won Lord Stanley cup, they still have the core players that fit the team chemistry, just that they let go three main guys that were part of their core and more importantly helped give this team an identity, of being hard to play against and being a “TEAM” on and off the iced. A good team with chemistry is like being a family and battling for each other every chance a situation arose, these three guys are Jonny Boychuk, Andrew Ference and Shaun Thorton, these are the guys that were part of the core and brought an identity to the team.

When you are missing your identity and struggling in the way you play as a team, the management has to be careful how they fix this and not trade the wrong guy and get back a guy that makes the situation worse, if you give me 20 Patrice Bergeron’s, I will show you a championship every year, this will never happen and you need to be very careful on how you add and subtract players, as this will affect the team for a very long time, until you get back the team chemistry and find the team identity once again.

Now with that said, Brad Marchand and his reputation is hurting this team more than it is helping, granted he has skill, but the reputation is out weighing the talent 2 to 1 right now, if you could pick up a player like Oshie of the ST. Louis Blues, for Marchand and throw in Jordon Caron to sweeten the pot, I would go for that trade all day any day, Oshie has good hands and would be a good fit for these Boston Bruins, put Oshie on the first line, bring Paille to the second line and bring up spooner to play for the big club on the fourth line. This gives you more speed, more craftiness (which leads to goals) toughness to dig the puck out of the corners to the front of the net, which will lead to more scoring, but what it gives you the most is, better team chemistry and even greater, a team identity that you are missing now. When you have a good core of player’s, that have a great team chemistry and a solid identity, plus a great coach with a winning system, now you have a championship team, which the Bruins had in 2011 and can get this back, with some little tweaking and not selling the farm to the highest bidder.

” Boston Bruins still have a good core of players, they just need a little tweaking to regain the chemistry and find their identity once again”

” The chemistry and identity out weigh talent on any team sport, without them you will never win a championship”
