The Journey into the unknown….

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

Going hiking to some is just a daily trek up a mountain and then return to the comforts of their home. Hiking for those Outdoor types that like to go from mountain to mountain, is a journey through the unknown and exploring everything around them, as they take in the true beauty of Mother Nature.

Most hikes when you start the daily journey, is a beautiful sunny day at the bottom of the mountain, except if your hiking in the winter then your blazing a trail through the snow as you go. In either case you still have to keep an eye to the sky, as during your trek to the summit the weather can change quicker than you can snap your fingers, which is why you always have to be prepared for anything, as you trek to the summit of the mountain.

Hiking any mountain you always have to be prepared no matter what elevation you are hiking to. When you don’t wear the proper shoes, then blisters can be a major disappointment along your trek and reason for not making the summit of the mountain, not just blisters but what if you should twist an ankle and either sprain or break an ankle? Now you will definitely not be making any summit of any mountain, which makes for having a good first aid kit in your pack you carry on your back. Now having a first aid kit and the proper supplies in it is one thing, the knowing of how to make use of those supplies is a totally different thing, which then brings the knowing of first aid and doing the right thing, so you can get back to your car and getting good medical treatment, so your ankle heals properly. Inside the kit you may have bandages and tape, but knowing how to gather some twigs along the path and making a splint and wrapping it so it stays still, then finding a good walking stick to act as a crutch, will only keep some of the discomfort to a minimum, so you can get back down safely.

The backpack is a vital tool to all Hiker’s, no matter what size mountain, or how long a trek you plan on taking. First it needs to fit comfortable on your back, with a waist belt that takes the load of your shoulders and distributes that weight on your hips, so you can feel comfortable along your journey. The pack itself should have no more than 100 to 130 pounds inside it, depending on the journey you are taking? With that said, it is important to know the right things to pack within the pack for your journey. The most important item on the list of things in the pack is the first aid kit, next would be survival tools for just in case you wander off the path and become lost, like a good bright flashlight to signal as the sun turns to the dark of the night sky, most definitely some waterproof matches if you don’t know how to make a fire without them? This will help you keep the chill away and keep your body temperature at a point above hyperthermic  stage, a good survival knife in your pack will help you in many ways, along with some string so you can tie the knife to a good branch and make a good fishing tool in case you need to catch a fish, so you can cook a meal on the fire you made back at your camp for the night, you need protein to stay sharp and find your way out of where you are. Hiking along any path and trekking into Mother Natures wilderness can seem like a lot of work, but the work is small if you truly want to enjoy and have a good journey no matter where you walk in the great outdoors.

Being prepared along any journey you may walk in your lifetime, is key to having a safe journey and having successful trek along any path throughout this journey of life. The knowledge of knowing how to be prepared and how to react to any situation, will only help you to be ready for whatever that may cross your path, along this journey through life, or whatever journey you may be on, as you trek up the mountain in front of you, or the mountain of life we all are on. We all may take a different path, but the journey is all the same, as we try to walk through as safe and with as much happiness and joy as we can.

” Being safe and being happy are what we all want throughout any journey we are on throughout this journey of life”

” Preparedness is the key to walking this journey of life, or just trekking up a mountain that is in front of us”

” The beauty of Mother Nature is all around us, we just have to be safe and stop to truly see the beauty that is around us”

Any words can be twisted, but the right words will stand the test of time.

” They were exceedingly astonished and said among themselves, ” then who can be saved”? Jesus looked at them and said, ” For Human Beings it is impossible, but not for God, all things are possible for God”.

*** Mk 10:26:27

“These words within the Scriptures, which are the Words of our Savior Jesus Christ. He spoke the words of his Father and Lord God our father, unlike other words these words have stood the test of time and have never been twisted for any needs. The book of the Scripture’s like the good book of the Bible, is now and always will be, the best books of our times”.

The journey of Jesus Christ was so long ago for us within this Society, it is understandable if we lost the faith in something we have never seen but only read about,   as within this Society it is only real if it happened to me, or we see something with our own eyes. A big reason why we have lost faith in Jesus Christ is quite simple, we have lost the faith and confidence in ourselves, for which we lost hope for our future, with our clouded judgements we can’t see clearly of the paths we walk along this journey of life.

Moses climbed the mountain not just for himself and talk to our father the Lord God. He climbed the mountain for each one of us throughout all the generations and Societies of the past, present and future. Moses brought back to us what we know today as the ” Ten Commandments”. These Commandments are the Laws from God himself, for each of us to follow, so we all can reach the path of righteousness as Jesus showed us, when we follow these Commandments with our body, heart and soul, we will always be rewarded with the highest of rewards, the true path of righteousness right into the eternity of Heaven or the promised land.

Within this Society and so far removed from the journey of Jesus Christ, I am willing to bet that the percentage will be high, of the people that do not truly know of the ” ten commandments”? This is sad and at the same time, understandable of why the divorce rate is so high, why we have so many stealing from their fellow man excetra…  Maybe it’s time for Jesus to do as his Father did, have his one and only son, to walk their journey with us here on Earth, except maybe in a more modern way that best fits within this Society of today.

This Society is troubled and broken and is in need of some major fixings, just like when things happen to us and we need to fix ourselves, our Society needs our help and needs to be fixed, so we all can walk our paths in peace, while we share the love of God ( that is within our hearts) with each other, so we all can be stronger and better moving forward along this journey of life.

” The words we speak may be twisted around by others and given different meanings than we actually meant? But the words from the Bible and the Scriptures have lasted through the test of time without any twisting”

” The words of the Scriptures are real and true words, the words we speak at times are exaggerated and get twisted, so we ourselves don’t look weak, or try to put ourselves above another”

” Words are a bunch of letters put together to make sense, the right words can leave an impression and stand the test of time”

Life of the great outdoors…….

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA               Life within the great outdoors has a beauty of its own and will take your breathe away when you see first hand. Whether your camping and I mean the real camping in a tent, so deep within the wilderness, that cell phone service does not exist, you have to raise your food high enough in the tree’s to keep the Bears from having an open invitation to eating it, you build a campfire to not only cook your meals, but gives you warmth from the night air, true it is work just to hike into camp, set up camp and gather wood for the camp fire, but when all is set there is no better way to relax, when your sitting around the fire and taking in the sounds of nature around you.

Hiking a trail or a mountain you have never been on and exploring the unknown, then seeing some breathe taking sights that normally you would never see, not only the scenery but the wildlife you come across on the path of the trail in which you take, like when I hiked up mount Albert in Leadville, Colorado. This was an elevation of 14,500 and the highest I have ever been, the journey on the trail to the top put me in a state of awe many times along my trek, not to mention the snow fall I encountered at the top in the month of July. Yes I was prepared for anything I may encounter, as it was only a day trip but I had a full backpack on my back, as I hiked up the trail I came across many buildings that were still standing strong from the days of yesteryear, as I approached these buildings I did stop to explore further, looked inside and was amazed at the workmanship of these buildings, plus how they were still standing through the test of time and the brutal weather that they endured. Hiking in areas we normally would never hike, helps us better understand that we are not alone and that others have walked their journeys here on Earth, it gives us a feeling of accomplishment, as well as getting us out of our comfort zone and as we accomplish one hike, we than want to hike more.

To some getting out of there comfort zone is to take a new route to work, that may be okay to see new things, but your destination is right back into your comfort zone where you feel safe, but to truly get out of your comfort zone, you have to explore new things, feel that feeling of accomplishment after you reached the summit, like I did when I reached 14,500 on top of mount Albert, see things you would normally never see, no matter what route you take to work. Plus to see the buildings that were built from the original settler’s and still standing strong today, now that will give you a whole new outlook on life today, they built these buildings with what was around them and not going to your local Home Depot, life today is in so many ways easier than back in those days, but yet we in our minds think we have it hard and we make our lives harder than it really has to be.

Life in the great outdoors has so much to offer, its not just going in the backyard and grilling steaks on the BBQ, its going out and trekking in areas you normally would never go, exploring and seeing things that you never seen, or even thought ever existed. When you explore the outdoors you not only learn and see new things, you also learn of yourself also, you find that there is a lot more than just walking your normal path of your journey of life, you also learn that no matter what event that life throws at you, you can overcome that event with the confidence to be better and stronger as you walk your path along your journey of life, just as the ones that came before us and walked their paths along their journey of life.

” The great outdoors has a lot to offer us, than just the rays of the sun and the stars of the night sky”

” To reach the summit of the mountain isn’t just about the walk to the top, it is more about the feeling of accomplishment when you reach the summit”

” The feeling of accomplishment is something we can get, not by just reaching the summit of any mountain”
