Look out into the horizon and the horizon will look deeply into you

A beautiful day out on the water, a few clouds within the blue sky, the water is calm making the canoe glide through the water with each stroke of the paddle, as you look out ahead to see what’s in front of you in the water, look deeper into the horizon, to see where the water touches the sky. Does the water really touch the sky? when you look deeply into what you see, then you will have the answer to this question of reality.

As we walk through yet another journey of Lent and well into this journey, let us look deeply into the scripture for this 4th Sunday of Lent. Sometimes bad things happen even within the good, which makes it even more important for us to look deeply into ourselves, so we can see why these happen, as we move forward through this journey. Jesus came upon a man who was born being blind, Jesus then padded his eyes with clay and told the man to wash and you will see, The man was free of sin, but had the bad thing of blindness happen to him from birth, it was no fault of his or his parents, so he went to wash and now can see everything around him.

The problem within this broken society is, we don’t look deep enough at what we see, we glance at an appearance, then think we know everything of what we are seeing? You never truly know of anything, unless you actually look deeply at what you are looking at, when you glance at someone that may have an outward appearance of not as you are, you never know of what they may have gone through, unless you look deeply at what you see without glancing at an appearance, only then will you truly see what you are looking at, plus you will also be totally in touch with your own true feelings of, compassion and empathy, when we all do this is when all the hatred and ugliness that surrounds us now, totally disappears from all our paths, as we walk peacefully through this journey of life.

Jesus looked deeply into the eyes of the blind man, saw totally of who he truly was, then as he padded the clay on his eyes and told him to go wash for he will see, that is what the blind man did and now he see’s everything around for the first time on his journey. We in this society get so caught up in all the hatred and ugliness, we don’t let ourselves see anything for what we do not want to see, we then bury our true feelings deep within, leaving us with no empathy or compassion for each other, which now we move forward hurting one another with our actions, instead of treating each other with respect, so we can move forward in peace and happiness always, throughout this journey of life we walk.

When we hide our true selves from one another, is simply because we don’t look deeply into what we see, then as we just glance over what we see, we then lose deep within, our true feelings, especially the feelings of compassion and empathy, which is what keeps the love of Jesus within us, to share with each other, so the hatred and the ugliness won’t take control or over whelm us, as we move forward on our paths of this journey through life.

” The horizon is the abyss of our lives, for us to look deeply into it, as it looks deeply within us”

” As we are now deep within this journey of lent, let us look deeply into what we see and truly see and feel the love of Jesus within us”

” Go into the bathroom and what do you really see in the mirror? Yes it is the reflection of ones self, looking deeply back at you as well”

The Food of life is more than just opening the kitchen cupboards.

” The paths of our journey of life are all different from each other, yet they are so similar in the true place in which they bring us”.

Each of these pictures and the paths in which you see, may look very different from one another, but when you look deeply into what you see, then you can clearly see that each path holds it’s own beauty to each one of us, as we walk these paths throughout our journey of life.

Throughout this Society in which we live, when we think of food we think of sitting down at a table and eating what we have purchased at the local grocery store. What we tend to take for granted is, the alter at our church also has a table, that God invites us all to, so we can receive the food of life. This food is a lot more than what we sit down to eat and fill our stomach’s at our tables within our homes, the food of life is God’s word for us all, so we all can walk our paths of this journey through life, to be better and stronger and share with each other, so we all can be at peace, while showing our true love towards each other.

” The food of life is God’s word, that comes to us through the Scriptures and everything we do or see around us”. “Everything truly happens to us for a reason, it is we the people that need to look deeply into what happened, in order to see the why of what happened, so we can understand better the reason of what has happened”.

I understand that when things happen to us, our thoughts become clouded and we make future decisions and choices through the clouds of these thoughts, these choices and decisions don’t have to define who we are, because who we truly are is deep within our core and as the clouds of our clouded thoughts disappear, then we will truly see who we truly are, we will truly see the why’s of what has happened to us, so as the clouds disappear, we all can see the beauty within all the paths and see the food of life that God has graced us with, as we all walk our paths of this journey of life, peacefully while showing our love of one another and making all our lives care free and happy.

These paths within these pictures are paths that take us on a journey through an area that we may either know, or that we are exploring, but what we tend to over look is, these paths are very similar to the paths of our journey through life. When we look deeply into what we see on these paths, we will truly see the food of life, that God has put in place to make us all better and stronger throughout our journey’s. It is our clouded thoughts, our arrogance and our selfish ways, that keep us from looking deeply into what we see. Truly seeing the food of life that God has put forth in front of us, will help us all be better and stronger, while walking our paths of our journey of life peacefully, as we all share our love of God and each other always throughout this journey of life.

” The food we eat just fills our stomach’s to give us energy, so we can truly see the food of life that God has put forth in front of us”

” You say steak dinner, but God says come to my table and I will show you the true food of life”

To look deeply into what you see, not glance or be shallow…

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA            This picture was taken at a time when, the leaves have fallen from the tree’s and the color has come and gone.

What do you really see in this picture? To some they may not see the true beauty of God’s creation, they may see boring and not so bright colors, they may see the muck and fallen leaves in the foreground, or maybe the tree’s in the back ground with no leaves, to which they look dead? It is all a matter of perception and we all perceive everything around us differently, which is proof of just how unique to each other we really are.

What I see……….. Well lets look at it this way, when we wake up for work in the morning, we all go through a process to make ourselves up, so we come across to others as well groomed, we use make up to cover blemishes or whatever scars we are trying to hide, in essence we are putting forward a form of fake self to those around us, in this picture is God’s creation at a time with no make up, no color to bring our eyes away from the true beauty, that was created for us see things as they really are and not made out to be something it truly is not.

When God created all of Mankind he did so to help us, he created us to be unique to each other, so we can see deeply into everything around us and see the true beauty and not something made up, that does nothing but show a side of fake reality, it is us all throughout Mankind that has confused this fake reality with what true reality is, with the way we perceive everything and everyone around us.

To be true to what is captured in this picture, you should see all the hard work it took to create all that is in the picture, you should see that all this plant life is actually living and breathing the same air we as Mankind breathe, what we don’t see is the oxygen needed to make this air possible, for all living breathing creatures to survive on this planet, we also don’t see the living breathing plant life and creatures, within this body of water in the picture, there is a lot more to this picture, than what we perceive or want to see within it.

We are unique to each other and because of this, we perceive everything differently from each other. The dangerous part of this uniqueness and perception is we the people and how we perceive each other, we tend to look at others on the outside and judge them, before we get to know who they truly are, just because someone looks rough on the outside, doesn’t really mean they are rough on the inside and unless you really get to know someone, you don’t really have any idea of this. We all walk a path along a journey of life, some may have more struggles than others on their chosen path and from that look a little rougher than others, when we perceive someone and judge them by their looks, we then become shallow ourselves and from this shallowness, we then move forward with not trusting anything around us, so do you really see what you are looking at in this picture, or are you perceiving something based on what you see, without truly looking deep into what your looking at?

” Perception is part of who we truly are and is part of us being unique to each other throughout Mankind”

” To see what you are looking at is shallow, compared to really looking deeply into what you see”
