The Appalachian Trail………… A trail of serenity and peace.

The Appalachian trail covers just over 2,100 miles, from Mount Katahdin in Maine, to Springer Mountain in Georgia. Thousands of Hiker’s take to this trail as only a few hundred actually finish the entire trail. This has been a dream of mine to hike the entire trail, hopefully one day before my body says other wise I can accomplish this dream. You definitely need to be in top physical condition, as this trail will test you in many ways and the weather you encounter along your trek, well lets just say…….. it will more than test you, it will show just how determined and motivated you actually are in finishing this trail.

Most people that take to this trail, have had some sort of a major life event happen to them and this is how they cope and search for their true selves. Some may be entering in what is known as mid life crisis, they get laid off from a job they worked hard and long at, they realize they don’t really know what they want, so they take to this trail to find themselves within the peace and serenity that is around them along this trail. You meet others that have embarked on the same journey and you hike together for a short time and become friends with them, you chat with each other as the quietness of this trail, will test you yet once again.

When hiking this trail you don’t want to carry too much, as the extra weight will slow your pace and possibly be reason enough to not finish the trail? You carry what you need for a few days and when you get too certain sections of the trail, you then stay a night at some hiker cabins, that are taken care of by others who have hiked this trail and you can be shuttled to town and get your parcel that replenishes your carrying supplies, these parcels are set up before you start hiking and are at post offices waiting for you at your arrival. There are other good Samaritans that set up in places along the trail, in areas that you come down from one mountain and up the next with a crossroad that you cross over, these kind people are usually Boy Scout Troops, or others that just offer hikers, soup or other kinds of comfort foods. You meet a lot of kind Hearted people that are friendly and neighborly, this makes you realize that yes there are other people that actually care for the well being of others.

True the Appalachian trail is a lot of hard work and effort on your part as you walk this trail, but when you take it one step at a time, set a smooth pace that is comfortable for you, you find it is not work at all and you actually enjoy your time in the outdoors, enjoy seeing all that is around you, including the wildlife you may encounter along your journey of the Appalachian trail.

While you are enjoying your time on the trail, enjoying all that is around you, you are also learning better of who you are, learning better of just what you can accomplish when you set your mind to it, You are also learning that there is so much more to life, then you thought when you were back in the comfort of your home and within your comfort zone. When we get into our comfort zones, we are so afraid to step outside of the zone, cause we don’t know whats out there and we are also afraid to try new things as we don’t want the mistakes of the unknown to disrupt what we are doing, so we then never venture out of the zone and never try something in order to find if we like it or not.

The Appalachian trail is more than just a trail when you look deeply into the trail, most will just see it as too much work to embark in such a long walk, but when you look deeply into the trail, you will learn just how to look deeply into yourself, so you can truly find who you really are and what you can truly accomplish when you set your mind to it. Yes this trail will test you in many ways, you don’t need to study for these test, just jump in head to toe with excitement to learn of everything around you including you yourself, as you walk your path along this journey through life.

” The Appalachian trail is not just there to hike in sections for the beauty of the trail, it is there to complete the trail from start to finish, seeing all the beauty around you, including you yourself”

” Just over 2,100 miles from start to finish on this trail, it is not the miles you walk, but how you walk the miles that help you better understand life and yourself within”

” Peace and serenity is what we all need at one point or another along this journey of life, the Appalachian trail offers that for whoever wants to embark on the journey”

Don’t forget the Corpus Christi…….

Corpus Christi…… To some it is a vacation get a away, a place for ourselves to unwind, relax and re charge, so we can be renewed along our path of our journey.

Corpus Christi yet to others…… Is a total spiritual feeling we have with God and Jesus, that is not just deep within the core of a few, it is deep within the core of each and every one of us.

We celebrate this Corpus Christie today, not just within the churches we visit, but within the entire Catholic community and beyond. What is the Corpus Christi? It is the most Holy body and blood of Jesus Christ. This is what’s given us at the table of the Lord God, being the Alter that is within our church we attend weekly.

“Most of us go to church every Sunday and God welcomes us all into his house, asks us to come to his table, so we can all share this Corpus Christi”

As we all celebrate this Corpus Christie and acknowledge the most Holy body and blood, of our Savior Jesus Christ, please look around you….. really take a good long look around yourselves, so we can acknowledge all the crap going on around us and take the necessary steps, so we can all truly feel this most Holy body and blood and have complete faith in ourselves, as well as Jesus Christ our Savior.

Just as the Pope said in his message to us this week, he said “there is too much unnecessary shootings and hatred of each other going on around us, there is too much Individualism and not enough sharing of each other”, this all comes from not knowing what the words of Corpus Christi really means, it also comes from not taking the time in our lives to do new things, or learn new ways of these new things that we let pass us by. Our paths along our journey of life is full of many things, to which we never allow ourselves to search them out, nor do we allow ourselves to have complete faith in things we can not see.

Just because you can not see something, doesn’t mean it does not exist. They say there are many nutrients and vitamins in the fruits and vegetables we eat? Have you actually seen these nutrients and vitamins? But yet we all believe in what we hear, cause we all want to be healthy. The Corpus Christi and Jesus Christ are very much the same, we in this Society have never seen them, so we need to believe with our hearts and souls, so can celebrate this Corpus Christi today and truly except the most Holy body and blood and cleanse ourselves of all the bad, so the good will shine in us all…always.

We see all the shootings and hatred around us everyday, so this becomes our reality, we don’t see Jesus Christ so to some, they don’t believe and have a hard time in having true faith in anything in their lives.

” just because you can’t see something, does not mean it does not truly exist”. This is why when God created Mankind, he did so for us all to be unique to each other, we in this Society have taken this uniqueness and spun it in a direction, that has turned us all against each other, as you can see by all the unnecessary shootings and hatred that surrounds us today. What we truly need is to, see what the Corpus Christi really is, except the most Holy body and blood within our hearts and souls, so we than can share this with each other, so all our paths along this journey of life, can be walked in peace by all, while we all become stronger and better, to achieve anything that may cross our paths.

” The Corpus Christi is more than just a place, it is the most Holy body and blood of Jesus Christ, for all of us to share and spread it throughout, with each other”

” To truly believe in the most Holy body and blood of Jesus Christ, we first have to look deeply into what we see”

The heart still beats, even when it is scorned….

The beating heart is at the core of who we are without missing a beat,

on the outside there may come chaos, as the inside is warm with love,

the heart keeps the blood flowing through our body,

the heart is the life line of our existence along our journey of life,

sometimes the heart may skip a beat only to regain itself,

we with our lifestyles will also cause our heart much anxiety,

The way we walk our paths along our journey,

will over work the heart and bring much stress that can clog it,

the heart to us is precious like a flower or a white dove,

the heart pumps the blood without us being foggy,

when the heart works well, it sings beautiful tunes like the bugle and the fife,

just as we ourselves have to fix ourselves, the heart can fix herself,

the heart pumps the blood through us, leaving us with a feeling of sobriety,

when the heart stops or skips its beat, we then are put on a gurney,

the heart  gives us life unlike the middle of the  peach that is the pit,

the heart gives us this warmth, which is our inner layer of love,

when the heart isn’t 100% we then feel a bit boggy,

the heart is in the middle or the core of our being unlike our outer extremities like our hands or our feet.

” good healthy living and good healthy mental living, will always keep our hearts beating and filling us with love and happiness”

” the blood needs the heart, like a fish needs the water to survive”

” the Chevy commercial “heartbeat of America” simply means the core of America, as the heart is the core of our living”
