” This is what John the Baptist proclaimed: One mightier than I is coming after me, I am not worthy to stoop and loosen the thongs of his sandals, I have Baptized you with water, he will Baptize with the Holy Spirit”

MK 1:7-8

This week as the season of Christmas ends, we now recognize the Baptism of Jesus Christ. Now some may wonder why the son of God, needs to be Baptized? As John the Baptist continued to Baptize Jesus, he then realized that as he became baptized, Jesus now will bring the Holy Spirit to the rest of us. The Holy Spirit is within each of us, but if we do not recognize this Spirit, if we do not have complete faith in this Spirit, then the true power of the Holy Spirit, will never come to reach it’s full potential. This Holy Spirit within us, when we truly have faith in it, Jesus Christ, and ourselves, the sky is the limit to what we can do, when we recognize the Holy Spirit and stay true to our faith, this is how we become better and stronger, moving forward throughout this journey of life.

Everything has a reason and everything has a purpose, it is up to each of us to find that reason and purpose, without the true power of the Holy Spirit within us, when we do not find the reason or the purpose, we will simply be wandering throughout this journey. We all wonder of this ” Higher Power” we hear about? This higher power is the Holy Spirit that is within us, it is the power of Jesus that helps us be better and stronger, and even during times that we think all is lost. Without the faith in Jesus Christ nor the Holy Spirit, then there will be so much unrest around us, the hatred, the ugliness, and the corruption, these are the main ingredients of the fact that, the faith has slipped away, as we have wandered away from the house of God.

There are so many today that have wandered away from the house of God, and the current situation we are all in, within this society, proves just that. The trust, the accountability, the integrity, these are just a few that is lost today, Without the faith, we will never have any hope, but as some around us try to exploit the power, control and greed, the hope will seem non existent. Even as everything seems so bleak, we should never lose sight of faith, as through faith, it will open so many doors, and doors we thought never existed.

Just as Jesus got Baptized, we to get Baptized as we enter into this world, as Jesus grew up in this world like we ourselves, he taught us many things, but the biggest was how to love each other, and through that love how to treat each other with respect and dignity, but unfortunately, like everything else we touch, it starts out great, but over time, it brings much hatred and ugliness, which is nothing more than Satan trying to control us, but as Jesus himself was tempted by Satan, we to get tempted, and Jesus showed us how to resist the temptation, to move forward better and stronger.

It’s all about good versus evil, we get baptized into this world, so the good will be within us, this evil that is Satan is not within us, and has to be learned over time, but when we stay true to who we are, stay strong in faith to Jesus and ourselves, we will always have hope moving forward. As long as we always have hope, we then will always stay true to ourselves, so we can be at peace and share our love with each other. When we stopped entering the house of God, this is were we then became disconnected from the Holy Spirit, which opened us up to the evil that is Satan. We all need to cleanse ourselves again as the power of Baptism does, so we can be re-born and truly follow Jesus, to the path of righteousness, where we can have true peace and love, to move forward better and stronger.

” Baptism is where we are cleansed and enter into the land of God, then let the love of Jesus warm our hearts”

” The power of the Holy Spirit within us, helps us keep the faith, to have hope, to be better and stronger”
