There is no ” I” in Team……..

To be a Champion in any team sport, comes down to the fact that, it’s not about one or two guys, it is totally a team effort and the Boston Bruins have proved that with the great season they are having. On the verge of yet another Stanley cup victory and the way they as a team rebounded from a lack luster performance in game two, they go two games to one in game three, in the best of a seven game series. Game three wasn’t just a win for the Bruins, they did so in the house of the St. Louis blues and in a dominating way, final score was seven to two, while going four for four on the power play also. This team has a good mix of veteran players, as well as great young talent, with a coach that has his finger on the pulse of each game. Chemistry is another part of being a true champion, it is how you are respected by your teammates, knowing your teammates so you can move as one on the ice with pin point passing, as you gain control of the puck away from the other team. The team whether on the ice or off the ice, has to bond together and be ready to battle for each other, like being a family, with the coaches being the parents of the family. These Boston Bruins are a special group, that have come together in harmony, as they put aside the ego’s to work hard at achieving the most prestigious trophy in all of sports…………….. Lord’s Stanley cup.

The Bruins might of dominated in last nights game three match up, but let’s not forget the St. Louis Blues, this team is built very similar to the Bruins, I am sure game four these Blues will be ready to battle once again, the Bruins will have to be ready for the fight and respond as they did in game three. To get this far and be the last two teams standing within the league, with a chance of being the champions of the hockey world, says a lot of both these teams, now with these Bruins being two wins away from the coveted prize, is no time to become comfortable, as the last two wins are just as hard as the last fourteen. For those true fans of the game of hockey, you have basically two seasons in one and we the fans are blessed with such a great game, now through the years the game has had some changes to it, like being a much faster game then years before, but the basics of the game stay in tact, like the first season being the regular season and the second season being the playoffs. With the playoffs there is a slogan we call ” Mission sixteen”, basically we call it that because it takes sixteen wins to win the playoffs and become the keeper of Lord’s Stanley’s cup.

My earliest memory of these Bruins was also against the St. Louis Blues, with the now famous greatest player to ever lace up the skates………… He is Bobby Orr and with an assist from Derek Sanderson, the rest is history with Bobby flying through the air in front of the goalie, for the goal and the winner of Lord’s Stanley’s cup. The Boston Bruins have a rich history and being one of the six original teams within the National Hockey League, not too mention some of the great hockey talent to wear the spoke “B” on their chest, is the reason why I myself Bleed black and gold. With two more wins this special team of the Boston Bruins can cement their names within the rich history of the organization.

Like Tom Brady has become the G. O. A. T. of the football world, we here in the city of Boston has witnessed two G. O. A. T’s of their sports, with Tom Brady and Bobby Orr. There is a lot of sports history here in the city of Boston and with the Bruins on the brink of winning a championship, along with the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots all in the same season, which hasn’t been done since the season of 1935/1936, truly gives this city of Boston the title of ” Titletown U. S. A.”.

I love the game of hockey, played the game when I was younger and with my favorite team so deep in the playoffs, like two wins away from winning Lord’s Stanley’s cup deep, it is very exciting right now, with all eyes on this special team. A team that has battled adversity all season, a team that has bonded together more than a team, they have bonded like a family on and off the ice and has been fun too watch this bonding all season. This team has been resilient all season and watching them in game two and game three, proves just how resilient they are, with an ugly performance in two, and a great performance in three. Would love to see this team finish mission sixteen, as not just for the reward for the players on a great season, but for the third time in the same season, the city of Boston can cue the Duck boats once again, for this type of celebration will never get old, especially with my favorite team.

” In team sports there is never an I, as it takes the whole team to work as one and become a true champion”

” The Stanley cup is the most prestigious and hardest trophy to win of all the sports, which makes hockey the coolest game on ice”

” To be a G. O. A. T. of your sport means that you are the Greatest Of All Time”

” Mission 16 in the game of hockey starts with the playoffs as you are on a mission to win 16 more games to be a true champion of the sport you play and love”

Greatness Personified………

” Greatness is within us all, but unfortunately only a few achieve true greatness”

Last nights Superbowl was an Epic event on so many levels, not too mention being one of the best Super bowls of my lifetime so far. Okay it is true I am a New England Patriot fan, ┬áit is also true that I like many other true fans have gone through many seasons, with our beloved Pats only winning one game a year, so it is safe to say that, I am not the only one enjoying the ride for the last 17 seasons. With all the Hater’s hating on this team only shows what greatness brings and the New York Yankees back in their hay day, have also been through what the Patriots are going through now, which is where the nickname the ” Evil Empire” came from. What I say to all the Hater’s out there is, ” if you truly want to be a Champion, than step up to the plate and beat a true Champion”, with Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons almost did just that.

Tom Brady and Bill Belichek just solidified their greatness last night with this great come back win, some may say that the Falcons choked, but to the real football fan, this game was won a team that never gave up, no matter of how big the odds were as this game moved forward. This game was won by a team that never lost faith in their selves and their teammates, which kept hope alive for each and every one of them, when there is faith, you will always have hope and with these two, the confidence runs high throughout the entire team. Plus with the slogan of ” do your job”, the task at hand never really got too big for them to handle.

We all walk a path through this journey of life, we all also go through the good as well as the bad, with what I learned of Tom Brady’s Mom last night, I couldn’t stop my eyes from watering and to think she was at her first game watching her son……. the tears filled up my eyes and my heart became warm with love. with all the chemo she has been through, she was strong enough to go watch her son in person, which made this story so much bigger than the game of football itself. Tom Brady is more than just a football Quarterback, he is a Human, walking a path through this journey of life, just like all of us as well. The biggest difference between Tom Brady and most of us is, he never gives up, he never loses faith in himself and with this faith, never loses hope that he can achieve Greatness, plus as a Human and with all his Mom has been through, Tom Brady stays focused on the prize and the true prize isn’t each Championship ring he receives, the true prize is each chance he gets to spend good quality time with his Mom at her time of need. This was the story within the game, this is the story that drives Tom Brady to Greatness, this is a story and a message to the rest of us that, we to can achieve the same Greatness if we want it bad enough, we just have to stay focused on the true prize and not the prize surrounded by drama or false reality. We all walk a path through this journey of life and when we do it correctly, when we stay focused on the true prize and when we never give up, never lose faith, which brings us all the hope we need to move forward better and stronger, so we all can share our love within, with each other, as we then walk this journey in peace and happiness.

” True greatness is within us all, we just have to focus and never give up, so the greatness will shine over us all”

” Last nights Super bowl game was beyond a great game when you look deeply into the game”

” With Faith there will always be Hope and when you have them both, the confidence will drive you to never give up no matter of the odds”

Love, Respect,Rewarding,Hospitality

We climb mountains like this, not just because they are there, or maybe simply to pass the time? We climb mountains like this because we Love the getting outside part, we Love the adventure part of the journey and we also Love what our Reward is, when we reach the Summit of the mountain. While Hiking our journey to the Summit, we quickly learn to Respect the mountain and the trail for which we climb, we Respect everything around us like the plant life and the animals that may cross our path. Then we come to realize all the Hospitality of all the other Hiker’s that we meet along the trail, with just a quick simple hello and have a great day, by an Individual that before then, you never knew existed as we walk our path through this journey of life.

I just attended an event which very much had these same traits like, Love, Respect, Reward and the Hospitality. This event was for a sport that I very much enjoy not just for the competitiveness but for the game, this sport is Ten Pin Bowling. Bowling to some may be just a night out, or maybe a game for which to pass the time, Bowling to me is the Social interaction with others, making Friends with others that if it weren’t for the game, maybe you would of never met these People? It is also the fun you have competing with other’s, now some Leagues may be more competitive than others, or maybe you are good enough to compete in some Tournaments? The sport of Bowling teaches us all that, even through the competitiveness, we can still get along and have fun together, playing a game that we all, Love, while we Respect the game and each other, earn many Rewards and accolades, While we simply have fun and share much Hospitality with each other.

Now with all the Crap we see around us today and what the liberal Bias Media would want us to believe so they can sell their print and make money on our account, there are still good people around us and we can still enjoy each others company, without the word Hate even being a thought in anybody’s mind. Even through the competitive part of the game, when the game is over you can still shake hands regardless of the out come. The Hospitality part of Bowling is very seldom talked about, but yet is the part of the game that makes it the best sport out there. The Love and Respect that is shared by each bowler, is the biggest reward within the sport of Bowling. Unlike other sports, when an Athlete reaches a certain point, they lose the Love and respect, the Hospitality becomes non existent and the rewards then never come, which then makes us very Bitter and Hostile toward each other.

This Love, Respect, Reward and Hospitality will never die, only we as the people of this Society and the actions we take, makes it very difficult to truly see the good of these traits, makes it very difficult to receive any kind of a reward, as the Hospitality and the kindness will never be shared by we the people, as we walk our paths of this journey through life.

” Love is within us all and much easier to share with all those around us, the hate is learned from our surroundings and harder to spread among us”

” Respect is a trait that when we acknowledge and care for one another, then the feeling within us fills us with great warmth”

” Rewards comes from all our hard work, without the work there are no Rewards”

Hospitality quite simply comes from us being nice to each other, as we share the Love within us with each other”

Inside the Boston Briuns, the true perspective…….

The problems of Boston Bruins this season of 2014/2015, simply go deeper than just trading a player for another player, just cause you think it may shake up the team?

What your average fan and most sports media so called know it all’s tend to forget is, there is a lot more to a hockey team than the production of a player. Team chemistry and that special bond between the players goes without saying, other than the Edmonton Oilers of the early 1980’s, which had a team of superstars and just pick a guy including number 99 Wayne Gretzky, you can make a case that this was the best team ever put together in the history of the NHL. Teams like that today will never exist again, reason being is free agency and the salary cap of each team, plus the fact that their team chemistry wasn’t needed as their talent outweighed it by a landslide.

Team chemistry was what the 2004 Red Sox was all about, they weren’t the most talented team but they played for each other and pulled together when they needed to the most, Guys like Kevin Millar (cowboy up), Jonny Damon to name a few and the nick name they gave each other (the idiots), goes to show the team chemistry this team had and what made them a special team, to end the Red Sox drought after 86 years and win the World Series.

This Boston Bruins team had this team chemistry in 2011 and won Lord Stanley cup, they still have the core players that fit the team chemistry, just that they let go three main guys that were part of their core and more importantly helped give this team an identity, of being hard to play against and being a “TEAM” on and off the iced. A good team with chemistry is like being a family and battling for each other every chance a situation arose, these three guys are Jonny Boychuk, Andrew Ference and Shaun Thorton, these are the guys that were part of the core and brought an identity to the team.

When you are missing your identity and struggling in the way you play as a team, the management has to be careful how they fix this and not trade the wrong guy and get back a guy that makes the situation worse, if you give me 20 Patrice Bergeron’s, I will show you a championship every year, this will never happen and you need to be very careful on how you add and subtract players, as this will affect the team for a very long time, until you get back the team chemistry and find the team identity once again.

Now with that said, Brad Marchand and his reputation is hurting this team more than it is helping, granted he has skill, but the reputation is out weighing the talent 2 to 1 right now, if you could pick up a player like Oshie of the ST. Louis Blues, for Marchand and throw in Jordon Caron to sweeten the pot, I would go for that trade all day any day, Oshie has good hands and would be a good fit for these Boston Bruins, put Oshie on the first line, bring Paille to the second line and bring up spooner to play for the big club on the fourth line. This gives you more speed, more craftiness (which leads to goals) toughness to dig the puck out of the corners to the front of the net, which will lead to more scoring, but what it gives you the most is, better team chemistry and even greater, a team identity that you are missing now. When you have a good core of player’s, that have a great team chemistry and a solid identity, plus a great coach with a winning system, now you have a championship team, which the Bruins had in 2011 and can get this back, with some little tweaking and not selling the farm to the highest bidder.

” Boston Bruins still have a good core of players, they just need a little tweaking to regain the chemistry and find their identity once again”

” The chemistry and identity out weigh talent on any team sport, without them you will never win a championship”
