Til Death do us part……….

” They can no longer die, for they are like Angels and they are the Children of God, because they are the ones who will rise”.

LK 20:36

There are so many unanswered questions surrounding the Death of anything even we as the People of the World. Where do we go after death? Does our soul really lift up out of our bodies? Why do some last longer than others? Why does it seem the Good always leave us sooner then later along this journey of life? There are these and many more questions about Death, only we never really think of them, because we fear death as the final ending, to us walking our paths along this journey of life.

” Get busy living, or get busy dying”. This was a quote within the greatest movie of all time in, Shawshank Redemption. This quote is so correct in many ways as we walk our paths of this journey, from the time of our Birth until we reach living within Society on our own, we are too busy living and making a life for ourselves, then when we reach a ripe old age, we then get busy preparing for that time when we are taken from this Society, some never make it to that ripe old age and some may live well beyond those years ( whatever the correct age is?). Through death and when that time comes, what are we really thinking and what are we really feeling deep inside ourselves? This is a question that can only be truly answered at the time that our journey is about to come to a close. Now when a loved one passes and we see them at the time of their last breathe, or someone close to us passes that has helped us in many ways, those that are left have to grieve and we as Humans grieve in our own way, this Grieving process brings us a lot of pain and sorrow, which unless we process it correctly, it can and will have us continue this journey with more bumps and bruises, then we care to except.

Now as we walk our paths of this journey of life, we try to walk it correctly, but there are many variables that come to us at the cross roads and these variables will control us if we let them, when these variables take control of us, we then get lost within the clouds of our judgments and become someone we truly are not. This Person that we think is ourselves we then move forward not knowing of our true direction, we move forward doing for ourselves and totally not acknowledging of those that are around us, everything then becomes for me and we totally put out of our heads that, there are many that walk a path through this journey of life. I understand that we all walk our own path, but we all walk them through one journey and this journey is, the journey of life.

When someone gets taken from us through Death, at first we become shocked then as the shock goes away and we come back to reality, we then get hit with the sadness of the death and ask ourselves why? Some may cry, some may not know how to cry properly, but the crying only helps us heal properly and ease the pain that comes to us through death. It is we the ones that survive the death of the one that was taken from us, that feel the loss and in some ways harder then others, as the one that lies in state, who really knows where they have gone? Death is permanent and I think that is what we fear the most? The second part we fear is the fact that, none of us can truly say, what happens after we are taken from this life? We may have an educated guess, but it is still just a guess, death comes to all of us at some point, whether it is we suffering the death, or a loved one, or maybe someone that we become close to, as they have helped us in many ways, but none the less death will affect us all at some point, as we walk our path through this journey of life.

Death is something that will affect us all at some point, which is why we all have to get busy living in the now………..correctly and not just for ourselves. God’s love is within us all and that is the warmth that fills our heart, not just the blood that flows through our veins, as God fills us with his love, it then becomes up to us to spread this love with each other, so we can not only get busy living, but we can also be ready for that time when our journey comes to a close, instead of simply getting busy dying. Are we really ready for that time of Death? We may think we are, but when it comes it scares the living crap right out of us, this is where the fear comes into play, because we fear the unknown and death is all about the unknown, no matter how well prepared we think we are. Instead of looking at death as an unknown, or being something as being permanent, why not celebrate the life that has died, so we all that have been affected by the death, can grieve properly and as we grieve properly, then we all can learn to accept death as something that happens at the end of a journey and maybe we won’t be so fearful of death? Although this journey through life has no road map and may end differently for all of us, but at least through the celebration of life, we may accept death better, so we all can walk our paths through this journey of life, being stronger and better and within peace and happiness.

” ” Get busy living or get busy dying”, great movie and great quote from the movie of Shawshank Redemption”

” Death is full of the unknown and it is the unknown that we fear the most about death”

” Nobody knows truly why some are taken sooner than others, only God truly knows and we need to have complete faith in him to accept death better”

” Through death we miss deeply of the ones that get taken from us, which makes the grieving process so important to each of us”

True Wilderness Camping

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

” Camping to us now was a way of life for so many, for so long”.

A camping site like this one has its own uniqueness about it in the way that, you need a boat to get to it with all your camping equipment aboard. Once you get out there and set up, this site will help you appreciate what was once a life style for so many, for so long.

Within this Society today we totally have forgotten just what true wilderness camping is, it is a form of camping known as, Primitive camping. Which there is nothing out there except what you bring and how you take the time to enjoy everything that is around you. Primitive camping isn’t for everybody, as most are so used to their flushing toilets, that they don’t want to go without them.   Then there is the building of the campfire for cooking your meals and to keep the chill of the night air away from you. Tents…… is a big part of the equipment as without it, now you are sleeping outside under the stars, which ain’t a bad thing, but it will also have you sleeping with all the night time species that crawl the Earth floor, or maybe a Bear or two that may invade your site?

When camping in spots such as this that is off the beaten path and difficult for most to get to, it will bring you all the peace and serenity you want, it will also if you let it? Help you clear the fog from your judgments, so you can get back to being truly of who you are. When camping deep within the Wilderness, it will help you become confident in yourself, as everything you do you have to work for it, like gathering wood for the fire, so you can cook and keep the night time chill in the air away, but once camp is set and the wood gathered for the cozy campfire, now is the time to totally unwind, lift the weights off the shoulders that you carry around in the everyday life, so you can totally relax and get back to the true person that you have always been, except that the daily grind of normal life, has taken from you and hidden it deep within your sole.

Within this Society we have wandered away from truly being who we are, we have hidden deep within our soles our true selves and replaced it with a fake self, just to compete and live among one another. We try to be someone we are not, simply because we want to put ourselves above all those around us, when someone has become successful we then try to be as successful as them, but really what truly is success? Success isn’t defined by the big house, the fancy car, or even the amount of money you have, success is different for each one of us, as for each of us to be truly successful, only means moving forward on our paths of this journey through life, within happiness, while being confident in all we do, so we can all find the peace and serenity within this journey we all deserve.

We also within this Society have lost within ourselves our true love and empathy, of not just ourselves but of each other as well. This true love and empathy is within us all, just that we have buried it deep within, to protect ourselves from all the crap and hurt, that brings us great pain, then while we bury the love and empathy and try to move forward with no pain, we then get so accustomed to it, that we forget and bury it even further within us. this is what true Primitive camping can do for us all, it can get us back in touch with our inner selves, feel the love and empathy deep within us, so we can get back to who we truly are. Yes you have to work for your survival out there, but this kind of work brings you great rewards, that will make you better and stronger as you walk your path through this journey of life.

” Primitive camping is a type of camping that you work during your stay within Nature, but it will always give you big rewards as well”

” Being true to who you are is surrounded by our true love and empathy, which leaves no room for the pain and the hurt of any hatred that we may find”

” a camp site in the middle of no where has its own uniqueness to it, which will have us all change to be better and stronger moving forward”

” Some may not try the Primitive type of camping, simply because they lack the confidence and are afraid to find their true selves”

An Island of Dreams

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

We all dream of our own little piece of paradise and within this ugly Society of today, most would love to have this beauty and build a Log home smack in the middle. This Island is surrounded by a lot of natural beauty, no matter which direction you turn and look. It was nice to jump into the Kayak and go to these Islands and explore all they have to offer, but let me say that……..peace and serenity stands out more than anything.

Simply imagine yourself sitting on your Farmers porch which you built and attached to your log cabin, listening to the sounds of nature as you look out into the Lake before you. Then you see a Loon swim lazily by with no worry in the World, as the Loon goes by now you see an American Bald Eagle soar by overhead, but what you don’t realize is, they are both eyeing the same fish beneath the surface of the water. The Eagle so majestic and beautiful, soaring through the sky with the greatest of ease, then in one fell swoop he sweeps in for the fish, then fly’s away with the fish in his talons before the Loon has a chance to react, what a beautiful sight and you had a front row seat. The beauty never stops on your dream Island, as suddenly you hear twigs snapping to your right, Hmm!! What could it be? You slowly take baby steps in that direction to explore the noise, now your breathe not only goes silent, but the beauty you see takes your breathe completely away, it is a Moose  about 50 yards away, you freeze and sit very still, in order to not startle him, to make him feel welcome to your little paradise. Now you wonder just what other kinds of beauty still left for you to see, but your in no rush as eventually, all the beauty will become your norm for as long as you want it to.

Now that you seen a taste of the beauty around you, you can get back to work fixing up your cabin inside and gathering wood to chop, split and stack for the fire to cook and be warm in the chill of the night. Once you are set with the chores, time to grab the fishing pole, to catch the fish special for your dinner with time to relax and unwind. As you sit and relax, your mind starts to think about what tomorrow will bring? Maybe cultivate the soil around, so you then can grow some fresh vegetables, to go with your daily dinner. There is so much to do in order to set up your paradise, you never give it a second thought as the beauty around you, simply makes up for the work each and every day.

We see all the ugliness within our Society and after one month in your paradise, full of peace and serenity, it becomes very easy to forget there is any ugliness at all anywhere. We all walk a path through this journey of life, but if we don’t find our own space to unwind and relax, then this ugliness will forever consume every fiber within our bodies, leaving us without truly seeing any real beauty that may be around us.

” Paradise is different for each of us, which is why we have to find it before we go stir crazy”

” The Eagle soars with the greatest of ease as it is quiet like the Stealth Bomber.

” having a cabin in the middle of no where may be some work at times, but you never think of the work only see the beauty around you”

” Being one with Nature is much better than any therapy you may receive”

” When life gets you down, it is this paradise that brings you back up and ready for the next chapter”

The days journey on the water

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

As I grew up I always paddled a Canoe, but this time I had a chance to paddle a Kayak and let me say it was more fun than I ever imagined. I paddled all over this pond on this day, going in and out of all the inlets, exploring all that I could within the daylight of this day, watching all the Bald Eagles fly over head and a couple Herring also flew over head. a small flock of Canada Geese swimming along with no worries slowing them down, taking pictures of my days journey, documenting all that I explored, Then each little Island that I came to, I would pull up to the shore of the Island and get out of the Kayak to walk around and enjoy the peace and serenity of the Island. Now as low as I was to the water, the views that I saw were every bit as good as if I was in a bigger boat, that had a motor and moved through the water faster.

The one thing that this Kayak was better than a bigger boat was, the negotiating of the stumps as I got closer to the shores at every stop. This pond has a river that travels through it and the pond became what it is, by the Hydro plant that dammed and flooded the area for the use of creating electric from the water of the pond. All these stumps and logs that washed up on the shores of the pond, were so petrified from the water, that they were smoother than any man could do with a sander or a planer, it was like the drift wood you find as you walk along any beach that you may walk. Walking along the shores of any beach, has a beauty of its own, but to journey through the pond paddling a Kayak along your journey, now this is what true exploring is all about.

The point of the Kayak was pointing in the direction I was going, making it easy to navigate my way through the water, with my arms and shoulders doing all the work, in order to move from place to place. To some it may seem like to much work to paddle a Kayak, but it really wasn’t as it was more fun exploring, as the work didn’t seem like work at all. True a bigger boat with a motor would of had me move through the water faster to explore more, but time I had plenty of as I was having more fun getting to the next destination within the pond and exploring everything on my way through the pond.

The Native Americans used Canoe’s to navigate through the water and fish for their meals, they had no Kayaks back then, but if they did have Kayaks? They to would of had much more fun as I did, negotiating through the water of the pond. Okay maybe they wouldn’t of been able to carry much supplies, as the Kayak had little room to work with, but with the Kayak being lighter, they would of negotiated the water a bit faster from place to place. I can see certain members of the Tribe paddling through the water in a Kayak, as they shouted to the others on land ” Tatanka”, which in their tongue means ” buffalo”, as they warned them of their chosen animal, which for them was Spiritual Inspiration, food, clothing and shelter.

The Kayak was a great idea to negotiate the pond and all its inlets, while moving around all the stumps near the shores of the inlets. Then as you got into the narrow parts where it turned into the river with some fast running rapids, now your talking even more fun until you have to turn around and go back up the rapids, which was a bit more work. None the less the Kayak was a great toy to have while exploring and having fun and enjoying the great scenery along your journey on the water, then the plus was watching the great Bald Eagles fly over head.

” The Native Americans might of had Canoes, but for me the Kayak was so much fun”

” The difference between the Canoe and the Kayak is space, as you can carry more with a Canoe”

Tatanka is the Indian word for Buffalo, they used this animal for spiritual inspiration, food clothes and shelter”

” The Bald Eagle may be a protected bird and the symbol of America, but this bird is awesome to watch float through the sky with the greatest of ease”

” The Eagle and the Bear may be the best Fisherman of all the Species, as they just scoop their claws in the water and out pops their daily meal and they make it look so easy”

The Perfect slice……..

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

The perfect camp site where the only way to get to it is, drive a boat there loaded with your camping gear. I can’t say where it is, only because I don’t want to give away this hidden gem. You want peace and serenity? you will have plenty of it here, great place to unwind from the daily grind we all go through on our paths of our journey through life. Just sit and relax, while you breathe in the air which is the cleanest air you will ever breathe anywhere. The beauty of the Pines around you, while you set your tent on the carpet of the pine needles so soft that you will fall asleep as soon as you lay down. Set up your kitchen and dining area by the campfire at the waters edge, then enjoy breakfast with the sunrise and dinner by the sunset, it really doesn’t get any better than this. During the day go for walks and truly explore what is around you and have fun learning as you go. This is a campsite that truly is more beautiful than you can ever imagine, i have camped in a lot of places, even at 13,000 feet on a mountain in the Colorado Rockies, but this site? Now your talking a beauty of it’s own.

The Pine tree in the middle looked like it was just struck by lightening, judged by the freshness of the tree and the way it split down toward the bottom of the trunk,    thank God I wasn’t around when the lightening struck, but when your camping deep within the woods around a lake as this, it is wise advice to always keep an eye to the sky and always be prepared for anything, including the presence of a Bear or two? True Camper’s who like the real primitive type of camping, aren’t wavered by these kind of threats, but they are well prepared for whatever situation that may cross their paths. For some their idea of camping is backing the trailer into a site and plugging into the electric and connecting the water hose for a flushing toilet? To me that is not camping, that is parking with all the comforts of home, true camping is to get out of your comfort zone and explore all that is around you, where you make your own enjoyment or simply just relax and clear your mind of all the crap within it, from the daily grind of this journey of life.

Camping is a sort of therapy, where it soothes your sole, clears the mind, so you can get back to truly being yourself, which is why the location of the site is the, or should be the number one priority. These big Public KOA campsites are okay, but your not going to get the same peace and serenity, like the campsite in the picture, the bigger campsites have daily activities laid out for you, but the whole idea behind real primitive camping is too escape the chains of our everyday life and be free, to explore, forget what time it is and just go with the flow, then learn to see the location of the sun in the sky and determine what time of day it is. We all walk a path through this journey of life and camping is a way to, clear our heads of all the crap in our daily lives, soothe the soul to truly relax, recharge our batteries, so we can get back to being who we truly are, instead of this fake portrayal of ourselves and pretending to be someone we are not.

” Camping isn’t just a way to relax or clear your head, it was a way of life at the beginning of Mankind”

” The Native Indians would camp everyday as they slept in their Tee Pee’s every night and made a camp fire for their Tribal rituals”

” The beauty of camping is to enjoy all there is around you”

” Camping for some is to back up the trailer and plug in the cord for their television and appliances, true camping is to unwind and get away from all the distractions”

The Real true Beauty that is around us

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

This is a mountain range in Franconia Notch, within the state of New Hampshire, One of the most beautiful of Notches that New Hampshire has. Once you reach the summit of any of these mountains, then walk across the ridge between each mountain, really there are no words, just quite simply……… it will take your breathe away with the beauty, especially on a beautiful sunny day with no clouds. For those yet to embark on any kind of real hiking and not a simple nature walk in the woods…….. what are you waiting for? True the journey to the summit may be a bit physical, it may take some work to walk the trails to the top, but the end result will leave you in awe for the rest of your life, not too mention, actually seeing all the true beauty of God’s Country, the way he envisioned us to seeing it.

Within this Society we all live, we don’t take enough time to enjoy all that is around us and I don’t mean, watching all the ugliness that surrounds us, or maybe keeping an eye on someone walking down the street, then wondering if they will try to break into your home? To truly enjoy all that is around, go to places that you normally would never go, go trekking on some trails that actually give you a workout and takes some work to walk, go camping in places that don’t offer you a swimming pool or nightly events for campers in the recreation hall,  go camping in places that are deep within the woods and your devices won’t work or even get a signal, that is the problem in this Society, people are afraid to go away from being plugged in to any device. There is a lot more to this journey of life then we even think about in our daily lives, we get so caught up in the crap, we then forget about the real world out there among us. I get the fact that we all suffer some life events at one time or another but what we forget is, instead of suppressing the crap deep within ourselves, fix what needs to be fixed, so we can continue walking our paths with confidence and strength. When we are strong and confident, our self Esteem then flourishes which helps us achieve all that we set out to do, when we suppress we then become someone we are truly not, which then leaves us within the world of self doubt, which is a place that has zero beauty to it at all. We all need an intervention in this Society, we all need to fix what the true problems are, so we than can continue to walk our paths of this journey through life, with strength and confidence, to be better and be at peace within ourselves and what is around us.

There is a lot more to all our paths of this journey through life, all we have to do is go out and explore, do things that take us out of our normality, change is good and when done correctly, change can be great for us all as we walk our paths of this journey. Go hiking up a mountain that offers you a challenge and that in return, will have your breathe taken away by the sure beauty that is around you. True you may become addicted to this beauty, but I would rather this addiction, then any evil addiction, like drugs… alcohol etc….. If hiking is not for you, then take to some real camping, like being one with nature and camping so deep in the woods, that your alone with your thoughts to unwind and clear your head of all the cob webs, that this Society en-plants within you. Real Primitive camping is how our true Ancestor’s lived, these are the true Warriors of Mankind and us today are totally weak compared to them. We have become so lazy with all this technology at our finger tips, that we have totally forgotten how to truly live anymore. We have become so dependent on being plugged in,  that we have forgotten how to unplug and enjoy all the true beauty around us. We have become so crazy within this Society, that we complain about everything around us, instead of really doing something about it, when we complain of everything we will never truly see the beauty around us, which will then have us become bitter of everything including becoming bitter of ourselves, which then lets self doubt enter into our lives as we walk our paths of this journey through life.

There is a lot more to life and walking our paths then being plugged in all the time, get out and enjoy all that is around you, simply by doing things out of the ordinary and taking you out of your normal life. Go out and explore in places that you would normally never venture, go trekking through the woods and see what kind of true beauty awaits you? Unplug from your daily routine and get plugged into a whole new world to you, a world that has no electricity and if you walk far enough, you just might find the true you, the you that has become lost within this ugly Society of today. We as Humans are very unique to each other, but when we keep attacking one another, only shows just how dumb we have become within this Society and the fact that we all need a major intervention, as we walk our paths of this journey through life.

” The true beauty awaits you, all you need to do is unplug and explore what is around you”

” Hiking and camping to some is too much work, but it is work that will give you the biggest rewards”

” Unplug from your devices and get outdoors and plug into the true beauty of life and truly find the real you hidden inside”

” Change is scary, change can be difficult, but when done correctly, change can be the greatest thing we will do”

Diversity is everywhere….

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

Nature is a good way for all of us to get outside, see all the true beauty around us and at the same time, take some time to slow the engine of our bodies and relax in a totally relaxed setting. Camping outdoors in a tent, in the middle of no where where your technological devices will not work, forces you to unwind, look deeply into what you see, so you then can not only see the beauty around you, or be one with Nature, but you can actually breathe in good quality fresh air, so you then can decloud the clouded judgments we all suffer from throughout this Society.

This picture if you look deeply into it, will show you that there is Diversity in all that is around us. The clouds that look so puffy and of all shapes and sizes, are all of the same color, the plant life also of many species and sizes, also have one thing in common…..their color, just as we the Human species that walk the floor of Mother Earth, are also Diverse to each other, we have our own uniqueness, we come in all sizes and color, but yet we all bleed red blood, breathe through a nose etc…. Diversity is part of who we are and a part of all that is around, the issue with that is, most have neglected to get back to nature, look deeply into what we see, so we can see all the true beauty around us, instead we have become lost within the clouds of our judgments and  have totally lost respect for each other and all that is around us.

I get the fact that a Society grows and with that growth, comes more troubles and issues for us to get through, but when we lose sight of who we truly are and what is all around us, we then become a broken Society in need of a major fix. We all walk a path through this journey of life, no matter what path you walk, there will always be the unknown factor around each corner, there will always be some sort of life event that comes to us, whether by our own selves, or by another Individual, none the less these events can and will change who we are if we let them. Life events should be looked at as a test, to see how strong we really are? Some of these events are small and some are big, but either way they can over whelm us if we let them, when they over whelm us is when we lose sight of who we truly are and then, we portray a fake side so others around us can’t see the pain we truly are feeling, we also suppress our true feelings and emotions, to further avoid any and all pain that may come to us, through this suppression some may shut down and simply try to move forward while they avoid further harm? Others will then become so angered, but have no feelings to gauge just how angered they are, so they then lash out toward all that is around them, without any feelings of compassion or empathy. Through compassion and Empathy is not only how we stay true to ourselves, but how we stay true to each other, which helps us all walk our paths through this journey of life, peacefully and with happiness in all we do.

” Getting back in touch with nature will help us all get back in touch with who we truly are”

” Compassion and Empathy is within us all, just that through the life events we all have lost sight of true compassion and empathy, leaving us not truly knowing of who we are”

” Diversity is all around us, we just have to look deeply into what we see, to truly see the diversity of all that is around us including ourselves”

” Nature is a quiet force that when we look deeply into, we can hear loudly at what it is saying to us”

The White Mountain Region of New Hampshire

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

This is one of the most beautiful notches within the White mountain Region, known as Franconia Notch with some of the best hikes for the adventurous types. Lafayette, Liberty, little Haystack, the Flume, just some of the peaks within this Notch and when high above the tree’s and along the ridge of these mountains, the view will take your breathe away. Looking across to the other mountain which would be to my right as I took this picture, is Cannon mountain, lively with skiing in the winter and mostly known for the old Man of the mountain throughout my lifetime, til a few short years ago and erosion has brought him to his demise,   one of the most viewed landmarks throughout all of New England, he brought many lookers to this beautiful Notch. Now unless you are a Hiker and are hiking this beautiful Notch, the traffic just drives by without really looking deeply into what they see.

Just to the right of center in this picture within this large rock face you see, just below the top, there is a huge rock, visible to those who walk along the ridge above the tree’s, this rock is hanging almost like by a thread and it has been like this as long as I can remember, well……. if this rock someday falls as the face of the Old man of the mountain did, it would go down it’s peak, across the road below and up Cannon mountain and whatever is in its way, it will simply run it over as it is that big.  Hiking through this Notch and accomplishing each Summit, there is no better feeling in the World, especially hiking up mount Lafayette, i can remember about five false summits, every time I thought the summit was in sight and when I got to that location, there was another to reach, but even through all that the view from the summit was better than the word of ” awesome”, if you reached the summit and it was a beautiful sunny day with blue clear skies, you can see as far as your eyes will let you. There is another one of those AMC huts for the weary Hiker to rest and get a good meal, this is the Green leaf hut and when you get there, get settled in and go outside to sit on a rock, look at the scene before you, there is no better way to unwind from a days hike, let alone to clear your mind from being weary, to totally relaxed before you know it, again this hut is above the line of tree’s and you can see clearly in all directions, or whatever window you may look out from inside the hut.

Hiking is a good way to clear your mind, from the everyday crap that fills it, from wherever you may live. It is also good exercise that will keep you fit if you do a lot more than one hike a year? Hiking and meditation go hand in hand, as the hike to the summit may be strenuous and weary, but when you reach the summit, now it is time to relax and clear the mind, as meditation will do. When you sit on top of any summit, you gaze deeply into the horizon, while you breathe in and breathe out properly, which then relaxes all your muscles within your body, then you feel a sense of calm over whelm your body, this calmness helps fix yourself from whatever that is troubling you, it makes these troubles seem like they are melting away, then as we start the journey back down the mountain and back to the real World below, it is our memory of this sense of calmness, that helps us keep fixing ourselves from all our troubles, as we then get back to walking our paths of this journey through life, with the rest of Mankind around us.

” Franconis Notch to some may be a road surrounded by mountains, but to others it is a sanctuary away from reality to unwind and relax, while we get mesmerized by its beauty”

” Old Man of the Mountain was a popular man for a long time, but like anything else change comes even when you least expect it”

” Once you go to the White mountains  for the first time, you keep going back to truly look deeply into what you see”

” When you look deeply into what you see, you then see truly of all the beauty that is around you”

The Grand Mount Washington Hotel

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

The Mount Washington hotel has a deep history to it and as long as it has been there, I am sure a few good haunting stories to go along with it. Every time I go by this Hotel I am inclined to stop and take in the beauty all around it, the mountain range in the back drop of the hotel I have hike many times, the range is known as the Presidential Range. Just to the left of the Hotel and socked within the clouds is Mount Washington, at an elevation of 6,288 feet, it is the tallest peak Northeast of the Mississippi River, a mountain I have hiked many times, been up the auto road a couple times, but have never been up the Cog Railway, as…okay…… Maybe a bit nervous to travel up a mountain, that I have no control of how it gets to the top and back to the bottom of the peak, but I would rather hike the mountain, so I can take in all the true beauty that is around me. When hiking to the top of this mountain on this side, you go past one of the many Huts that are spaced out within a days hike of each other, this hut you pass is known as the Lake of the clouds hut, yes there are two small lakes there, one used strictly for drinking and the other for jumping in to cool off after a long days hike. This hut is wide open with no tree’s around, making for an adventure in itself, when there is a passing thunder storm that has decided to take the same path as you along the trail. I can also say truthfully that I have hiked part of the Appalachian trail and this Presidential range is part of that trail as well, but hopefully one day I will be able to hike the entire Appalachian trail and be part of the history of that trail, like so many have tried and only a few actually have hiked the entire trail.

The other reason why I stop to look at this Hotel and the beautiful backdrop behind it is, it reminds me of the famous Stephen King and his book ” the Shining”, the only difference is the Hotel in the book is surrounded by the awesome Colorado Rockies, of which those mountains are much bigger, making the hiking adventure more rigorous, harder on the feet, but yet more spectacular on the eyes. Both Hotels are Grand in their own way and I am sure each has their stories that either differ or are similar to each other,   but unlike the Hotel in the book, the Mount Washington Hotel stays open in the winter, which brings a whole different clientele within the walls of the Hotel. The Hotel in the book closes for the winter, as it’s private setting  makes it difficult to get to, in a harsh winter storm. Which is why there is a caretaker that stays there alone through the winter months and towards the end of their time there, the quietness and the “magic” of the Hotel, starts to play with the mind of the caretaker, making for a creepy read, or a movie if you have seen the movie instead? Just like the Hotel in the “shining”, I am sure the Mountain Washington has it’s own story to tell, just that it hasn’t spoken like the Hotel in the book.

I can remember hiking the Presidential range in the White Mountains of New Hampshire as a young kid and staying in the huts up above tree line, these huts had their crews that worked up there feeding and taking care of the weary Hiker, at night before we would turn in for the night, these crew members would embark in some Ghost stories for us, they would use other huts or trails we have yet to embark on, as the basis of their stories, now whether these stories were actually true or made up well…… that was up to the ones that were listening and hanging on their every word. Now some of these stories actually were told so well, it was very hard to not believe, but then again with so many Hiker’s that have perished along these trails, maybe there actually were some Ghosts still walking these trails, to try to finish what they set out to do? Hiking these trails is so quiet and peaceful, it can play with your mind and have you hear things that is not really there, only because it is so quiet with a feeling of loneliness, I can only imagine if I were to hike the entire Appalachian Trail, from Springer mountain Georgia, to Mount Katahdin in Maine and with the quietness and the peacefulness that will surround you along the way, just how much will my own mind want to play tricks on me as well? But with that said, it is still a trail for which I would love to walk, as the ones that have started and finished this trail, it has changed them for the better, with a big feeling of accomplishment, that will never leave them, nor will anyone ever take it from them as well.

The Mount Washington Hotel nestled within the mountains and the clouds of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, a Hotel full of grandeur and spaciousness, that also has it’s own story to tell and we simply have to listen, so we can understand better of the beauty within and around it. Don’t just stay at the Hotel, just to say you have stayed there, really breathe in the atmosphere around you, look deeply into what you see, explore all that is around you and really listen to what the Hotel tells you, as old as it is, i am sure there are some squeakiness  to it and through the squeakiness, could be the Ghost of the Hotel, trying to tell you the true story of where you are staying, who knows the bed that you are sleeping on, or the room you are staying in, could of been used by one of our Fore Fathers, that had a hand in building this great country of America? Which would make the voice or voices you hear very informative with a history lesson, of the Grandest Hotel that you may ever stay within.

” everything around us has its own story to tell us, all we have to do is take the time to listen and not only enjoy, but pay attention with our hearts and souls”

” The mount Washington hotel is a very old hotel full of history with spectacular views, to stay here is more than just sleeping in a bed”

” The White Mountains of New Hampshire are great to look at from all angles, but to hike within them, now you can actually feel the heart beat of each mountain”

The twisted path along this journey

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

The twisted path throughout this Society is full of obstacles and is quite ugly at first glance, these obstacles are from each of us with our carelessness, we all want to leave our mark when we depart this journey, but unfortunately….. it is like going to your favorite restaurant, you want to have the restaurant cater to you and make you a dish only you would like, but if a restaurant did this for all that entered through their doors, the restaurant would then go out of business, leaving a void in all of us, as now we have an obstacle that becomes run down and ugly.

We all want to walk our paths with the path giving us no resistance, or the path giving us everything we want, especially if the path has never been blazed ahead of us, we now have to make our path, cleaning it as we go, learning at every turn, ready to face whatever obstacle that may meet us around the corner and working very hard to move forward as easy as we want. There is no path that we can just skate through with no work or issues, but if we work hard enough, than all our paths can become smoother as we blaze our way through the path.

Some may want other’s to blaze ahead of us, then we just skate through as easy as we can, it don’t work that way as, a path blazed by one, may not be the right path for you, this holds a lot more obstacles to over come and some twists that you then become so tangled, that you then lose your way and inability to find any path properly. Every path may not be perfect, but if we clean as we go, take care of our own issues without involving those around us, take care of the obstacles around each turn, then even as the path may still have some cleaning, it will become easier as we go, with all our hard work we do as we walk the path we choose along this journey through life.

Within this Society of today, all our paths have become cluttered with ugliness, only because we have tangled ourselves among each other, we then try to force one another to do the cleaning, instead of we ourselves, doing the work to untangle from the twists of our endeavors. You can’t force another to do the work of untangling your twists, as you can’t force another to see things as you see them, you only create more ugliness and resistance all around you.

We have all lost the true feeling of Empathy within us, because we are all tangled so far within our twists, that we have lost the ability to not only love ourselves, but to love one another, so we then can end all this hatred that is around us today. This hatred is the biggest obstacle before us along our paths, when we overcome it, feel the true Empathy within us, then and only then, will our paths seem to be getting smoother and easier. This takes hard work on all our parts and not just one waiting for another to come and blaze the path ahead of us, we first have to blaze our own path, then as each path crosses each other, they can come together out of love and empathy for each other, so we than can share instead of feeling angered and feeling hate, that you crossed my path and messed it up in a way I didn’t like, these paths take hard work on all our parts, we just need to accept the work, so we all can walk our paths along this journey of life, in peace and happiness everyday we step onto a different path, at each turn.

” Each path along this journey of life comes with its own obstacles, just we need to identify and work hard to overcome each obstacle, so we don’t become tangled in our own twists”

” In life not everything is of what we want, but when we work hard we than can create everything we want, making all our paths a joy to walk”

” Our paths may become cluttered with ugliness, only because we stop working hard to overcome the obstacles. so our paths can meet in harmony of each other”
