Rest for the Weary

” Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

When we all struggle in our daily grinds and become Weary, we grab a cup of coffee, maybe a power nap to energize us, sometimes even a weekend away, but these things are just temporary for our outer bodies, what Jesus Christ offers us is, rest for our souls and we just have to come to him in order to receive the true rest we deserve.

When Jesus gives us rest, he is truly giving us peace and contentment within our souls, so we than can breathe easier, breathe in the quality air around us, as we breathe deeply, which is totally relaxing the mind, body and soul. When Jesus gives us the ultimate rest, he is giving us the confidence we need, to escape the frustration and the chaos of the World around us. Rest in him and don’t worry about what lies ahead, as Jesus Christ has already taken care of the tomorrow for us.

The forty day journey of Lent is right around the corner, a time where Jesus walked his journey sacrificing for each of us and now, as we walk through these forty days, we to need to sacrifice a piece of us, so we than can become one with Jesus, as he helps us by giving us our ultimate rest. This Lenten journey we sacrifice, will help us flush all the bad from our mind, bodies and souls, so we than can be left with good, which will allow us to breathe deeply the love of Jesus and totally relax, to get the true rest we deserve.

Sometimes as we walk through our daily grinds, we think we are getting rest and sleep, but all we are doing is closing our eyes, while the thoughts of the day still flood our heads with negativity, this negativity keeps us from truly falling asleep, as the negativity consumes us, it then controls every fiber of our being and without the faith in Jesus, we then will never be able to come to him, as we then will give up trying to come to him, so we can have hope and truly be at rest within our souls. When our souls are at rest and we can feel the love of Jesus within us, this is when all the chaos of the world leaves us, this is when we breathe deeply all the beauty around us, this is when we all can be totally at peace, as we walk our paths through this journey of life.

” Rest for the weary is more than just closing your eyes, it’s coming to Jesus so he can clear our souls of all the chaos of the world”

” The daily grind can and will consume us with the chaos and the negativity of the world”

” The coffee, the power nap, or even the weekend away are just a temporary fix, as Jesus fixes us permanently throughout this journey”

” The forty day journey of Lent is the time for us to sacrifice, as Jesus did for us”
