“Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied to him, “ Master I want to see, Jesus told him, “ go your way; your faith has saved you. Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way”.
***Mk 10:51-52***
Blindness comes in two different ways, the physically blind and the blind that simply walks their journey without truly seeing all that is around them. The physical blind that can’t see, can see in many other ways and when they have the faith in Jesus, they see through their heart as Jesus guides them on their path of their journey through life. True they can’t see with their eyes, but their hearing is much sharper and they are more in tune with what is around them. They are more aware of all the different smells around them, as they walk their paths they know what kind of plant life is around them without seeing whatever plants they are walking by. Their sense of feel and touch is more acute than that of all others, they basically see through their hands. The Blind are not really blind and when they keep the faith in Jesus as well as themselves, they can see clearly of everything that is around them.
The ones that walk their paths of this journey through life and can see with their own eyes are the ones that don’t truly see all that is around them. We take everything for granted and don’t really see in detail of what is around them. We only see what we want to see and everything else doesn’t exist, you can have five people look at the same thing, now you get five different descriptions of whatever you are seeing. When we don’t have the faith in Jesus or even ourselves, we don’t really see the details of what we see, we over look the details or the little things, because quite simply we would rather glide right along on our paths and not take the time, to stop and look deeply into what we see.
As we walk our paths along this journey through life, there will be these life events that happen to us, these events will cross our paths either by our own ways, or they will be brought on by something/someone around us. These events will also keep us from truly looking deeply into what we see, as well as forcing us to be someone we truly are not. When we are that someone that we see in the mirror and don’t recognize? This is when we become blind to all that is around us, we lose sight of all the details, as we then develop tunnel vision of all that is around us. Blindness isn’t just of the ones that are physically blind, as true blindness is something that affects us all, as we walk our paths along this journey through life.
“Being blind isn’t just the ability of being able to see what is around them, true blindness is not seeing the details of what is right in front of us”
“Being blind doesn’t mean you are totally in the dark, as with the faith in Jesus and yourself, the brightness will light up your path along your journey”
“When we take for granted all that is around us, we will never see the details of everything around us”
