The Superbowl is arguably the biggest sporting event of the year, within all the sports that are played throughout. We as fans have to live through all the Media hype, then deal with all the conspiracy theories of the sports media world, who if you haven’t noticed, know everything about every sport? Lets not forget all the millions spent by the Corporate world, just so they can get our attention of their product/products, then oh yea!! there is a Superbowl half time show, that in recent years have flopped bigger than Peyton Manning did, in last years Superbowl.
Those who enjoy the game of football and know the game of football, know that to get to the game, they have to tune out all the Drama in the week before the big game, lets not forget the players who are trying to practice and focus on executing every snap, so they can help their team win the game. Yes the NFL try’s to put their best foot forward, so they can attract more viewers to their product, what is their product? The player’s and the organizations that bring in the players, so they can try to win the Lombardi trophy. Football is a brand, just like an I-phone is the brand of the company Apple. With all the effort that goes into Superbowl week and all the money spent in preparation of the Superbowl, not to mention the money spent on all the TV. Ads during the big game, one would wonder what would happen, if this money was spent on building this great country and to help make Society better and stronger, for all that walk their path along their journey of life.
Football is a game, but it is a game that brings in huge amounts of money to the NFL(national football league). This isn’t even touching the betting part of the game through Vegas, when you add in this money, it dwarfs the amount the NFL brings in, through the betting side, lets just say the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Any kind of betting in any sport, is a chance anybody takes, with only a few actually making back plus, what they originally put in to the bet, then the ones that lose the bet, only bring out the hate on the team that cost them their bet, common sense will tell you that, if you don’t place the bet and just enjoy the game as a game, then you have nothing to hate and you can enjoy the game you are watching.
When you really think about the Superbowl and are really in touch with your empathetic side, you will truly see that, if a percentage of this money spent just on a game and spent wisely to help all throughout Society, just maybe our Society will become better for all. Instead of all the Companies and yes the NFL is a company also, would spend more money on training and hiring of more employees instead of cutting jobs, they will actually have more production and make more money than they are actually making now. It doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to figure out that, football is a game and a game that brings in big money, just so a few can squander the money away from the ones that need it most. I like football and yes I have my favorite team, only that my true sport that i love more is Hockey. The difference between someone that likes a sport and someone that loves a sport is, the passion for the game and the knowledge you have of that sport. The passion and the knowledge is what gives you the energy to know the game within the game, understand that the sport is a business first and a sport second, each owner of any sport has to make money, so they can bring in the players needed to win a championship, but what most tend to forget? Money don’t buy the championship, you need the right players that play well with each other and form a bond for each other, the chemistry of the players is bigger than the actual money, cause without the chemistry the money spent is wasted money.
