Play the Superbowl already!!!

The Superbowl is arguably the biggest sporting event of the year, within all the sports that are played throughout. We as fans have to live through all the Media hype, then deal with all the conspiracy theories of the sports media world, who if you haven’t noticed, know everything about every sport? Lets not forget all the millions spent by the Corporate world, just so they can get our attention of their product/products, then oh yea!! there is a Superbowl half time show, that in recent years have flopped bigger than Peyton Manning did, in last years Superbowl.

Those who enjoy the game of football and know the game of football, know that to get to the game, they have to tune out all the Drama in the week before the big game, lets not forget the players who are trying to practice and focus on executing every snap, so they can help their team win the game. Yes the NFL try’s to put their best foot forward, so they can attract more viewers to their product, what is their product? The player’s and the organizations that bring in the players, so they can try to win the Lombardi trophy. Football is a brand, just like an I-phone is the brand of the company Apple. With all the effort that goes into Superbowl week and all the money spent in preparation of the Superbowl, not to mention the money spent on all the TV. Ads during the big game, one would wonder what would happen, if this money was spent on building this great country and to help make Society better and stronger, for all that walk their path along their journey of life.

Football is a game, but it is a game that brings in huge amounts of money to the NFL(national football league). This isn’t even touching the betting part of the game through Vegas, when you add in this money, it dwarfs the amount the NFL brings in, through the betting side, lets just say the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Any kind of betting in any sport, is a chance anybody takes, with only a few actually making back plus, what they originally put in to the bet, then the ones that lose the bet, only bring out the hate on the team that cost them their bet, common sense will tell you that, if you don’t place the bet and just enjoy the game as a game, then you have nothing to hate and you can enjoy the game you are watching.

When you really think about the Superbowl and are really in touch with your empathetic side, you will truly see that, if a percentage of this money spent just on a game and spent wisely to help all throughout Society, just maybe our Society will become better for all. Instead of all the Companies and yes the NFL is a company also, would spend more money on training and hiring of more employees instead of cutting jobs, they will actually have more production and make more money than they are actually making now. It doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to figure out that, football is a game and a game that brings in big money, just so a few can squander the money away from the ones that need it most. I like football and yes I have my favorite team, only that my true sport that i love more is Hockey. The difference between someone that likes a sport and someone that loves a sport is, the passion for the game and the knowledge you have of that sport. The passion and the knowledge is what gives you the energy to know the game within the game, understand that the sport is a business first and a sport second, each owner of any sport has to make money, so they can bring in the players needed to win a championship, but what most tend to forget? Money don’t buy the championship, you need the right players that play well with each other and form a bond for each other, the chemistry of the players is bigger than the actual money, cause without the chemistry the money spent is wasted money.

The Sports Theory with the Life Theory…….

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA           Those who have played competitive sports and have competed at a high level no matter what sport you competed in, know that there is a fire that burns inside you, that not only helps you get ready for game day,  but also keeps you focused no matter what happens during the game, so you can finish the game with a positive instead of a negative.

This fire once lit is a very hard thing to extinguish and when a player reaches the point where he/she is at an age, that they can’t compete at such a high level and 100%, then it is time to retire from that sport, which only that certain player really knows that time, as well as how hard it is to extinguish the flame of the fire that competition holds on them.

Just as in sports where the fire burns the competitive juices from us, we in life have this fire that burns inside us and this fire drives our existence, as we walk our paths along our journey of life.

This fire within us all, is equivalent to having a deep passion for what you do and how you do it, we all have our own way of showing this passion, which shows just how unique we are to each other. Some of us don’t truly get a chance to light this fire that burns within us, simply because there are life events that get in our way and these same events can determine who we become, if we let them control the fiber of our being.

Life and Sports are very similar, when you live and play them correctly, it’s when you go off the grid of what the meaning of right and wrong are, when we don’t see the similarities they each hold for us. Then if you add in the factor of winning more than you lose, now you have a whole new situation, which is what makes life and sports no fun for anybody. Let’s look at the New York Yankees or the New England Patriots, these teams win more than they lose and because of this it breeds a lot of hatred, you have people that are simply jealous that they are not a part of their organizations, so they than give in to the idea of hating on them, which shows a quitter more than anything, instead of being the one that steps up and beats them, showing a no quit attitude, “To be a winner, you need to beat a winner”.

We all have this fire that burns deep within us, it is not just for sports players playing a game, look at life as we walk our journey like a game, it is how you play that game that determines how successful you become. When you never light that fire within you, then you will never have or find that purpose of what drives you through your journey. Tom Brady for instance of the New England Patriots, the reason he has stood the test of time in football, is the fact he lit that fire within him and found the purpose of his playing football and because of this, he will be the best Quarterback in the history of the NFL when he finally hangs up the cleats. There are a lot that hate on him because of his success, simply because they are jealous of his journey and instead of trying to beat him, they give up and take the easy way out, which is simply hating on him and saying negative things about him. You want to win at anything whether sports or life, you can never give up, never have a no quit attitude and when you see someone that is successful, make that your purpose to be like them, which means no matter what kind of life event happens to us, work that much harder to overcome the odds, work that much harder to overcome adversity, so you to can be a winner and not that loser that calls out the winner, with jealousy and hatred.

Addiction… The Crutch that gives us false hope.

Addiction is like the temptation, that Jesus himself resisted from Satan, we the people within this Society can win over this temptation of Addiction, as we stay strong and believe in ourselves, as well as God, just like Jesus did.

This Addiction comes to us in many ways and it does not discriminate who it try’s to control, it can be in the form of alcohol, drugs, pornography, or even nicotine, there are many more but these are the ones that stricken  us at a much higher rate,   when you are deep into an addiction, nothing else matters, but what you crave and think you need most, you form this opinion and denial in your mind that, there is nothing wrong and you are doing nothing wrong, why can’t people just leave me alone, addiction is a craving that you need something, more than anything else that may exist.

Addiction is a way of something else controlling who we really are, then you have to deal with Corporate companies feeding of those who are addicted, just so they can become even richer, as you become aware of others poking fun of, or saying negative things about you, you then fall deeper into that addiction, Whether its alcohol, drugs, sex, or cigarettes that feeds your addiction, they are everywhere, which makes these addictions very hard to break.

Addiction will control who you are and force you into things you normally would never step into, we may know better today of these addictions, but we still have a long way to go, in order for all of us to control it, instead of it controlling us.

Part of us controlling the Addiction is, we have to want to change and if we reject real change, then addiction will never go away. Change for the better is the hardest thing for anybody to except, especially if you are in the clutches of an addiction, it will also give us a false feeling of happiness, as whatever addiction you are in, is the crutch in our lives that keeps us from attaining real happiness.

Addiction may give us certain feeling, but these feelings it gives us are, feelings of guilt, shame and anger when we can’t fulfill our addiction, these feelings we  accept cause it gives us a false feeling of happiness, so we go deep into denial and rationalize away the true feelings of life and what makes us truly happy. Addiction keeps us from truly being who we are, it also is used by others because they are addicted to greed, so they feed of this to control and make more money, of those who suffer the clutches of this disease of addiction.

These Addictions control every fiber of our being and force us in becoming someone we are truly not, when these addictions come to us, it is really Satan coming to us with hopes, we all fall into temptation and weaken ourselves, so he himself can become stronger, if we all resist this temptation by understanding better of how it works, we all within this Society will be better for it, these addictions will be less powerful over us and we as Humans, will become stronger as God wanted us all, as we walk our paths of our journey of life.

Tranquility in life as opposed to Anger in life……….

I chose this picture cause it shows how calm and tranquil everything is, with the snow covering the ground and the tree’s, with a pond in the background that reflects its surroundings. This is what our journey of life should be without the strong feeling of Anger that is within us all and that we let control who we are, even when we don’t realize we are doing it.

Anger is one of those feelings we all have within us, some may not show this feeling as much as others, but we all feel its effects and deal with it differently.

We all go through issues in our lives, its what being Human is all about, its how we deal with these issues that brings out or, we suppress these feelings of anger, instead of us dealing with these issues correctly, we then let the anger within us control who we are, which is not really our true selves. Life for all of us is hard enough without having to deal with extra-curricular activities, so we teach ourselves to use this anger to deflect or, hide our issues from those around us, so we can try to move forward and try to fit into Society as if we have no issues. Some of us use this anger to act out in ways we would never do if we are true to who we are, others may just use this anger to hide our true selves, so we portray a calm and normal demeanor, We are Human first and we are an Individual with our own minds and thoughts, there is nobody that can determine 100% what is going on in the mind of another, which is the reason why we as Individuals need to know ourselves and what makes us tick, so we can control ourselves better, instead of letting this anger control who we really are.

This anger within us is a way for us to procrastinate what is really wrong with us, so we don’t have to work at the issue, cause a lot of times these issues, brings much pain to ourselves, as well as much grief, we then focus our attention to keeping the pain from us, so we move forward with letting the anger control who we are, so we can try to be normal, like we think most around us are? Nobody is truly normal, nobody has no issues, some may have lesser issues than others, but nobody is issue free, this is why we need to truly know who we are, know what makes us tick and to do this, we need to reach out to the right people, so we can be guided in the right direction.

Anger in this Society is a huge problem and is a feeling that we overlook, cause we truly don’t understand it. Sometimes we need to step back, find that tranquil place to reflect and have a good sense of calm, so we can see the big picture, understand truly who we are and how we work, so we can fix our issues and have control, instead of the issues controlling who we really are and letting this feeling of anger control our core being within us.

This tranquil place could be anywhere, some may have a room in the house they can enter and lock themselves in? Some may like being outdoors and hiking a mountain, or fishing a stream or lake? this is an Individual thing, which shows how unique we are to each other, it also shows we are Human and can think for ourselves, as well being in control of ourselves so we than can help others to do the same. We only need to understand better, know when to reach out, know that the pain we feel is real and not just we ourselves feel it, everybody feels pain, just that we as Individuals deal with it in our own way, but we can only help others when we truly help ourselves be better and truly understand how we ourselves work. This anger management of ourselves will help understand why our Society has so much hate, just that we need to truly understand ourselves better, so we than can better understand whats around us and as we do so, then we all will find this piece of tranquility so we all can live in peace on our paths of our journey of life.

People in this Society will always hate on others simply because they are jealous and don’t want to put the work in needed to succeed like those they hate.

Look at the New England Patriots and the scandal that is going on now, true maybe they push the grey area a bit to try to get the advantage, but you tell me a team that does not push the grey area and I will show you a team that is clearly not telling the truth,  if your in a competitive sport you are always looking for the advantage, the grey area is still neutral ground as long as you don’t cross the line, it’s when you cross the line that, then action should be taken against you, with all the talk of the Patriots, we haven’t heard once of other quarterbacks that have changed the inflation of the football, yes there have been quite a few and have admitted to this fact publicly, now maybe Tom or Bill didn’t truly know of this and one of the Ball Boys took it upon themselves is still a question to be determined, but this football inflation thing has been going on throughout football for some time and it’s the Media making it out to be bigger than it has to be, so they can create drama and keep their jobs.

We are people and we are Human of this Society, why we hate so much of each other you tell me? All I figure is jealousy of each other, some may have more than others, but is that a good enough reason to show hate? We only show this hate of one another cause we are simply to lazy to put the work in ourselves, it is a lot easier to show love of one another than it is to hate one another, someone may rub you the wrong way, or does something that hurts you badly, we then come to hate this person and will do anything to get revenge on that person, we never once show any empathy towards this person, maybe they to have been hurt and this is their way of getting even, it’s all one big vicious circle that never ends, by showing more empathy of each other, makes it that much more easier to show love of one another, more importantly it also helps us forgive ourselves, so we than can forgive each other, so moving forward on our paths of our journey of life, can be that of peace as we all become better and stronger within Society.

The New England Patriots are the team to beat

The way the Patriots started the season and getting lit up at home to the Kansas City Chiefs, then all the so called Patriot fans coming out and calling for Brady and Belicheks’s jobs? Well where are these negative people now with the Patriots going to another Superbowl?

Tom Brady is one of these type of Quarterbacks that don’t come around that often and we need to just sit back and enjoy the ride, these Individuals that spoke of his decline…… well I think Brady has shut them up with his play on the field this season, Brady is also the type of Quarterback that can turn a nobody receiver, into a star in the league and if you look back at Dieon Branch, what he did here with Tom, then going to Seattle and doing nothing, speaks loudly of the type of Quarterback Brady is, he is also a true humble person and always puts his team before himself, he works the hardest in practices and studies more film on other teams defenses than any other Quarterback in the league, Tom when he entered the NFL with the Patriots, was so far off the radar no team even looked his way, but The hard work by Tom gave him his chance when Drew Bledsoe went down, then Tom never looked back and worked even harder to keep this job pretty much for his entire career, Tom’s competitive juices are second to none throughout the league and I will say he is the most competitive Quarterback in the game today.

What can you say about Bill Belichek? the only word that comes to my mind is “GENIUS”. Bill knows the game inside the game, he knows when to get players and when to release them, Bill is a very demanding coach of his players, but he only demands cause he knows how to get the very best from the players, the Patriots under Bill are the ones that came out with the no huddle quick offense with Brady working it to perfection, now with the last two games this season in the these playoffs you see a lot of different formations and plays from these formations, which throws off the defense and makes them confused on what is going to be played, goes to show what the Legacy of Bill Belichek and Tom Brady are all about, plus now you may see more teams picking up on this, so they can try to be like the Patriots? The only issue I have with other teams doing what the Patriots have success with is, there is only one Tom Brady and one Bill Belichek.

We can not mention the Patriots without mentioning Bob Kraft, since he bought this team he has become the best Owner in all professional sports. Not just being an Owner of the team, but what he does away from the game, with his open wallet when it comes to charities, Bob Kraft is more than a Businessman and more than an Owner of a football team, he is a great Humanitarian within our Society and his humbleness has affected each member of the New England Patriots Team. This alone is why this team is so good, for so long.

You are going to have a lot of so called fans and so called sports media members, who have become to hate on this Patriot Organization, let’s put it this way, the Patriots have become to football, like the Yankees have become to baseball, just simply because they win more than they lose, what I challenge to these haters is, if you want to win and be a winner, then step up and beat a winner. It’s not about the Patriots marching down the field and scoring, it’s even more about the other team to try to stop them from scoring, those that hate on a team cause they win too much, don’t really know the game, or even better they don’t really know how sports in general are played. You play the game to win, in football you play for a chance at the Lombardi trophy, this Patriot team worked hard all season for this chance at one more game for the Lombardi, they overcame a lot of adversity throughout the season and had a difficult schedule to get to this point, they earned this chance at yet another Lombardi, we as true fans need to just sit back and enjoy the ride, so this team of the Patriots can finish the journey they set out to do at the beginning of the season.

Martin Luther King was a “man”, that took to the streets for the equality of all as Humans, that walk this Earth together.

You notice that I used the word man? Reason being is, God see’s us all as a Human being with feelings and emotions, it is us the people that see each other with a different color of skin, it is us as people that look at each other as different, we as people are what is wrong not just within our community, but within our entire society as well, God gives us all the tools to do this journey the right way, he also never leaves us to fend for ourselves, we the people are the ones that chose not to acknowledge God within us, which leads to all the crap we see today within our society, Martin Luther King was trying to give us a message, we are all not seeing this message cause quite simply we think of ourselves as better than each other, the message was that we are all unique to each other and very similar as Human Beings, that walk a journey through life, just as God saw each of us when he created all of Mankind.

Just as we come to recognize yet another Martin Luther King day, remembering his journey of which he took to the streets, in order for us to come together without looking at each other as different and that we all have feelings and emotions, this day is set aside for all of us to remember not just a Man, but a Man with a message to help bring us all together, regardless of who you are, or what denomination you are as well, we all want to use this word of “Racism”, this word doesn’t exist in the eyes of God, it is only a made up word by we the people, who walk our paths along our journey of life, this word of “Racism” has kept us from seeing the true message of Martin Luther King and becoming someone we are not, there are plenty of ways out there that will help bring us together, like Martin Luther King tried to do, we as People have to truly see the message and truly believe in the Lord God, have complete faith in him as well as within ourselves, so we can see the good in everything, instead of only seeing the negative.

Sports is one of those things that brings us together, those of us that play a sport know that, when we come together as one and pull each of our strengths together, there is no end to what we can accomplish, the rest of us that are fans, still come together as we watch within a stadium, to root for our favorite team, while we are rooting for our team, this is heard from the team and helps them to come together even more so, which makes them even stronger as a team, there are Individual based sports also, you may see one person competing, like in the sport of Golf or Bowling, but what we don’t see is the team behind the scenes, helping the Individual to become better and stronger, it is never about “I”, as it always takes a team to be better and stronger in all we do as people, sport’s when looked at in the right way, will always bring us together no matter where you are in life, it is when we look at sports the wrong way, like the betting part of sports, that forces us to become something we truly are not, it brings out the hatred of not just ourselves, it also stops us from truly seeing sports as it should be seen, when we see all the ugly crap in the news, like these groups of Individuals by the name of ISIS or the Taliban, they want us to see them as a team, wrong all they are is a group of Individuals that bring out the hatred in all of us and try to get us to fear everything around us,  these Individuals have suppressed all their true feelings and emotions so deep within themselves, that it is like they don’t exist so they can move forward with no remorse of anything they do, the true message of Martin Luther King is for us to see each other as unique to each other, the fact that we are all similar in the eyes of God and we all walk our paths along a journey of life, sports when looked at in the right way, can also help us to see each other in a unique way, by bringing us together and use our Individual strengths, so we within this society can be stronger and better moving forward along our paths of our journey of life, which will help us accomplish anything that may come across our paths.

The Patriot Times

The football team the New England Patriots, are a franchise within the NFL that is a great story throughout all sports, for years before the current owner in Bob Kraft, this team had some great players that played wearing the logo of the Patriot, but unfortunately they didn’t make the playoffs all that often, then as things happen like throughout the history of the real Patriots that helped build America into the power house it is now,  the old owner in Billy Sullivan sold the team to Bob Kraft and now the rest is history before our eyes.

When Bob Kraft brought in Bill Parcells to build this team to a winning organization, he did just that even making the Superbowl, but unfortunately lost to the Green Bay Packers, then lightening struck, Parcells was let go and the Patriots hired Bill Belichek and the rest is still history before our eyes.

Bill Belichek has transformed these New England Patriots into a power house throughout the NFL and turned around the name of the team, back into what being a true Patriot really means, what he has done in the draft and with free agency goes without saying, some may not like a lot of what Belichek has done, but I question them and challenge them to build a better team than he has built, Bill has brought to this team a kind of swag that you don’t really see in a coach, his press conferences from a fan point of view are funny stuff, but from a sports media point of view…… let’s just say “we are on to the next game”, he has his way about him, but what he truly is from a football point of view……a Genius.

Then you have Tom Brady and his journey to where he is now, you simply can not write a script for a movie, any better then Tom’s career as a Quarterback in the NFL, drafted by the Patriots so far down off the radar, nobody really knew who he was and to take over for Drew Bledsoe the way he did, then never looking back and always looking into the future, to be better and stronger on his journey through football, this goes to show the character of Tom Brady, it also shows that he is very competitive and wants to win every game he steps onto the field, Tom Brady and Bill Belichek will be in the football hall of fame and beside each other as the best Quarterback/Coaching tandem in the history of the NFL, we here in New England are witnessing history before our eyes, so sit back and enjoy the ride, as we have become spoiled by their winning and one day it will all be very different.

Now with the New England Patriots about to play in their 4th straight Conference Championship, lets not forget where the Patriots used to be in the days of Billy Sullivan, then we can appreciate this title game even more so and hopefully see them earn a trip to yet another Superbowl, like Belichek always says ” one game at a time, one play at a time”, which happens to be so similar to how life is, ” one day at a time along our journey”, another thing the Patriots are doing this year and the theme of their season, ” just do your job” which means every player on the team has his own special quality that he brings to the team and when the whole team does what each of them do best, the whole team wins plus not to mention all the hard work in practice, which leads to good execution on game day, practice, moderation, not getting a head of yourself all these are the ways of the Patriots and they also speak loudly in our everyday lives as well, in a retro sort of speaking, if you look at sports in the right way, you can see that to be successful in life, it has very much the same qualities as being successful in what ever sport you may play or view, so as we get ready to watch yet another conference championship game by the New England Patriots, let us all wish them good luck and may they continue on the journey this season to the Superbowl and another Lombardi trophy for all to enjoy. OOPS!!!! one game at a time sorry……………..

The “Bruin” Chronicles.

The struggles of this 2015 team the Boston Bruins, goes a lot deeper than the CEO Charlie Jacobs coming out and saying their play is unacceptable, yes it is part of this team turning it around as of late, some may say the players are nervous of losing their jobs? The actual fact and answer to this turn around goes to Claude the Coach, as he still has his finger on the pulse of this team, but the biggest reason of the turn around is, the actual pride of each player Individually, go right down the roster and their are all members of this team you will find responsible for this dip in their play.

Sometimes you don’t understand pride until it comes and slaps you in the face and that is what it did, when Charlie Jacobs said what he said. It all started when this team lost to Montreal in the playoffs last season, they were the best team in the league, won the President’s trophy and thought they had the Cup in the bag? I will give them a couple key injuries early in the season, but the main reason of their lack of play is, the fact of pride and not being confident in themselves to overcome adversity, you would think that Claude would fix this issue? He is not God and you may lead the horse to water, but ultimately it is the player that needs to drink that water and run with it, not just are these Bruins drinking the water, but their confidence is better, they realize what each of their strengths are, which is what the coach brings together, so the whole team can be better and stronger moving on through the season and hopefully into the playoffs.

In a full hockey season the ultimate goal is to make the playoffs, then the goal becomes to win the Stanley cup, which is the most prestigious and hardest trophy to win in all sports. The end of a Stanley cup run will have the player feel emotionally as well as physically drained, then as they turn the corner into the next season, you can’t help but still feel the affects of the season previous, its not just the job of the coach to motivate the players, but each player has to motivate themselves as well as their teammates, sometimes this motivation takes way longer then it really has to, now during this time you hear a lot of crap from the so called sports media and the fair weather fan, simply because they don’t truly understand the game of hockey, true hockey players get paid a good amount of money and the so called sports media would have you think money motivates, but hockey players get no where nears the amount of money as a baseball player and a hockey player works 10 times harder, this motivation comes from within each of the players, with a small percent coming from other areas, in order for the player to motivate himself, he has to want it and sometimes this want takes a little time to build up, a little encouragement in the right places will help greatly, but it is the Individual player that fully motivates himself, then he motivates his teammates with the same encouragement he had received.

This Bruins team and the core of this team are still a great bunch of guys on and off the ice, they still have some to give, just that they need to put the past behind them, look at the now and what is in front of them, so they can have success and get into the playoffs, then as they become better and stronger, bring that into the playoffs and have fun winning another Stanley cup, then we start another season a new, with that issue of motivation once again you get the picture, playing the game of hockey for a player, is the same of each of us walking our paths along our journey of life.

The 2014/15 Boston Bruins……

With the 2014 season in the rear view mirror, time to seriously look at this team, as the playoffs loom a short journey away for this year, last year was a great ride for all the players, coaches, management and the true Bruin fan, that is always behind the team win, lose, or draw, winning that covenant President’s trophy shows not only how good a team you were, but is a great reward for all the hard work throughout the season and yes this team worked hard while showing other teams, that they are a difficult win for them.

I have been a true fan of the spoked “B” pretty much my whole life, I to was influenced to play the game from a guy named Bobby Orr, when all of New England opened new rinks to handle the huge draw of young children wanting to play the game, Bobby Orr wasn’t just a great hockey player, he changed the game moving forward into the future, the famous words of “Sanderson to Orr”, then Orr flying through the air as he put in the game winner and the famous, ” do you believe in miracles” from the 1980 USA Olympic hockey team, will always be etched in my brain, to me the two best quotes in sports, well……. now I have a third with the late Stuart Scott of ESPN saying at the Espy’s, ” you beat cancer by how you live, why you live and in the manner of which you live”.  Stuart Scott was an inspiration while he was fighting the ugly disease of cancer, now his inspiration will live on through the rest of us, as we move forward on our paths of our journey of life.

This season’s Boston Bruins have been like a huge roller coaster ride, with more downs than there are ups, to me a big part of it has to do with injuries at the beginning of the season to key player’s and key core players at that, then the trades of Boychuk and Thorton,  not to mention of Ference when he was let go to Edmonton, these three guys were part of the core of this team, now they may not have been the most talented, but what they brought to the team was Identity and Identity is something no player anywhere can bring back, the Identity I am talking about is, team first on and off the ice, like a family and having each others backs, when you have 22 guys (including the goalies) taking the ice every game as one, with no I am better than you attitudes, now you have a team that plays together, a team that it doesn’t matter who scores, just that they score one more than the other team to win the game, this makes for a very difficult team to defend, by any team that they may be up against, this was the Identity of the team last season and this is whats missing from this seasons Boston Bruins, they had this in 2011 as well and yes they won Lords Stanley cup that year, can this team rekindle this? You bet they can, they just have to have others step up, much like Ference did with the Jacket through the playoffs, when they won the cup.

This seasons Bruins have lost their team Identity and because of this some of the core players have lost their Identity of who they are, a guy like Milan Lucic who is the best power forward in the game and when he skates, hustles, be physical and gets to the net, good things happen, plus when he does this the rest of the team feeds off this energy and the team picks up their energy, Chara and Seidenberg are known as the best shut down pair of defense man in the league, but they both haven’t been close to years past, the best move the Bruins made was trading Joe Thorton and building a team around Patrice Bergeron, as Bergy is the best two way player in the game and this season still holds true for him and his number will be the next to the rafters of the Garden, you also have an awesome goaltender in Rask, he has played like a World class goalie, but since he was awarded with the big contract, he hasn’t lived up to that contract yet? Lets not forget the Coach in Claude Julien, who in my mind is the best Bruins Coach of my lifetime and would put him next to Bill Belichek as the best Coaches for Boston teams in my lifetime so far? Claude’s style is defense first and keep everything to the outside, not allowing anything up the middle of the ice, controlling of the neutral zone and letting your goalie see all the shots, it takes all the players of the team to buy into this system and when they all buy in, now you have a winning combination.

This seasons Boston Bruins will always bleed black and gold for me, can they turn this around and make a run in the playoffs? you betcha they can, they just need to all buy into Claude’s system like years past, the core of this team to play like they can, while setting a winning example for the new members of this team and re-claiming the Identity, that makes them a very hard team for any team to play against, plus they need Marchand to play better and stop taking dumb penalties that hurt the team, I know it’s part of his game to get into the heads of other players on the other team, but he needs to tone that down, play smarter and let his skill dictate his game and not his reputation like it is now, someone on this team if they haven’t done it yet, needs to step up like an Andrew Ference and bring this team together like a family, maybe another jacket to pass around at the end of each game, so each member of the team recognizes each other as not just a team, but a family on and off the ice.
