This has become a service industry society, in which a company provides a service to its customers for a fee. No matter what industry you are in, you need excellant customer service to succeed. This is an area of which all companies need help in. I don’t know about you, have you ever been in a Dunkin Donuts lately, or a Macdonalds, or even a car dealership. The Customer service on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 2 at best. It all starts with the Company itself, with the way they train, or lack of depending on Company. I don’t mean you have to kiss fannies to get what you want, just treat the customer as a person with respect. You will find that the word, R-E-S-P-E-C-T, goes a long way in life. It all starts with the Parents and the way they bring their children up in society. When taught at a young age to respect their fellow man, then later in life, good customer service comes natural, when there is a broken home, like a single parent, or a parent who just don’t care, then there is no teaching going on, of which as that child grows into society, then society becomes broken as well.
When you take a job at a Company that is Customer driven, it is up to that Company to provide you with excellant Customer Service Training, thats when a Company reiterates what your parents should already of taught you. when at a job where you interact with customers all the time, when you show up to work check your baggage at the door, now your on company time and you should act accordingly.
Just remember one major rule in Customer Service, Treat the Customer as you would want to be treated, as a person and not just a number, if you follow this rule, you will be amazed on how life in general treats you back.
